Trump compared coronavirus to the flu and MSNBC anchors can’t do basic math.
CDC reported for 2019 Seasonal Flu in US there were 34 million cases and 20,000 deaths. Coronavirus 550 cases and 26 deaths. No pandemic, no nothing. Ratings driven partisan nonsense.

Once again vaccine has nothing to do with transmission or lethality when we are comparing it to the flu which still kills many despite there being a vaccine because the vaccine isn’t a true one due to flues ability to mutate. I already said all this. and since we are comparing it to the flu how many people do you think catch the flu every year despite a vaccine for it? Since a 100000 seems like a lot to you.

That’s perfectly explained by the globe, but it shatters your flat map because all the people would be looking in three different directions.
@BornKingGamer All stars rotate East to West around Polaris just above the central North Pole like in a dome. The dome of our Earth however is so vast that the law of perspective doesn’t allow you to see all the stars from any one vantage point. You can however see Polaris, Ursa Major/Minor and other Northern constellations from every point on Earth all the way to the Southern Tropic of Capricorn. All stars rise more or less in the East and set in the West, with the angle/inclination being based on where you are on Earth and what direction you’re facing.

The flu virus mutates every year, so it’s always something new entering our organism… That’s why we get sick anyway.
But some of the genetic code remains meaning our immune system is not totally baffled by it. This is an entirely new virus we have NEVER been exposed to. This is already deadlier than SARS and MERS. SARS for example killed 800 in 8 months. Thousands of people have died to this disease in 2 months and it seems as though outbreaks are only going to continue..
Campos Jesus Right. Any this virus is so new. We don’t really know the long term effects that the virus has on the body. People who have recovered have only been fine for a few weeks or months. Are they still doing okay five years later?

Why not just listen to _everyone_ skeptically? Lots of “probablys” and “likelys”and “coulds” in your post. In addition, viruses have no “reason,” so nothing stands to reason. Scientists, for example, have no idea why more children have not gotten seriously ill but old people have, unlike with other respiratory illnesses, where both groups are most vulnerable. Suppose the fatality rate rises? Ever thought of that possibility? No, and no one did in 1918 either, when Donald Trump’s grandfather died at age 49 of what was a novel virus without a vaccine then, the incidence dropped, and then came back half as bad the next year. Caution, like the president is taking with the six members of Congress and his new chief of staff who have been in personal contact with the person at CPAC who tested positive (he’s not visiting them at home), is advisable, rather than hysteria, of course, but insisting that this or that outcome is mostly likely when scientists are still working with the possibility that this could spread and be as deadly as the 1918 flu, borders on the reckless, just like the president would be reckless to visit Meadows or Cruz to offer them his best wishes.

Please tell the racetrack managers they have nothing to worry about from now on, because there are still calls for shutting down Santa Anita to protect the horses still housed there. We want to protect the horses, but don’t want people to lose their jobs, so making the prudent decision is pretty important. Nothing is certain about this virus yet except that it can be passed from animals to humans and from human to human. We also know that cramming thousands of humans into a small space, like a ship or a political rally, is a wonderful way to transmit it from human to human, if that’s your goal. One wonders what on earth the Japanese government was thinking, especially when they then were not careful to isolate everyone who had been on board who was not tested when they finally evacuated the ship.
