Republican Governor Says Trump Made ‘Mistake’ On Coronavirus | The Beat With Ari Melber | MSNBC

As the Trump Administration advocates robust spending, military powers and drastic measures to combat coronavirus, there is renewed criticism of President Trump's initial response to the virus downplaying its significance. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, a Republican who runs the national governors association, says “there is no question that was a mistake” for Pres. Trump to initially downplay the virus, while also emphasizing that the most important thing now is for public officials and citizens alike to take the challenge seriously and focus on solutions over blame. (This interview is from MSNBC’s “The Beat with Ari Melber, a news show covering politics, law and culture airing nightly at 6pm ET on MSNBC. ). Aired on 03/18/2020.

    1. Jeff Libby – jeez, are you for real? We are in the middle of a national emergency, people are dying, we are running out of medical supplies, the president is having to be contradicted at every turn because he’s giving false information that may cost lives, and you want us to focus on the lies told by past democratic presidents? Unbelievable.

    2. V – I’m not sure about that. Trump has never struck me as very bright. He has the self confidence and swagger of the stupid who don’t know what they don’t know.

    3. Jeff Libby – I’ve listened to the last couple of speeches by hoe Biden. He’s not suffering from dementia. He talks in complete sentences, he makes his points clearly and people understand what he’s saying . Trump,on the other hand, does none of these things.

  1. Well, dude, we have been saying this, screaming this for weeks and weeks now. You’re not telling us anything new. We wish we had qualified leadership to get us through this.

    1. @Troy Stocker Medical professionals don’t have proper masks or testing kits for current cases.

    2. alot better here than in netherlands or norway by % but you liberals dont know aboiut math or logic

    3. Maybe you should be the President, since you are all so perfect, and never make mistakes. You know you would just love to deal with the press attacking you constantly about everything that you have absolutely no control over, and finding fault with your every word. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful experience. One that each and every person like you deserves.

    1. If we get the chance. I believe trump let this disease get as much of a foothold as possible to prevent voting and assume total control of government.

    2. @Dylan Batchelor Trump and trumpsters are victims of a feather. That’s how he conned them. Bernie Madoff must be jealous. Trump is a better con man.
Although, Bernie did ask him for a pardon, which trump will probably grant along with the other criminals, if reelected.

    3. Yeah, guys. Let’s all elect a Communist leader named Bernie, or a senile swindler, blackmailer, quid-pro dealing criminal leader named Joe who never lies about anything, or does anything illegal. Then everything will be so much better for all Americans, right guys?

  2. there is no need to panic…
    we have the worlds only…
“very stable genius” Reality TV star in charge…
    what could go wrong…

    1. @Admiral Crunch “I wish I could somehow infect every Democrat with the CHINESE VIRUS or Ebola.” You do realizes it’s CONTAGIOUS? so dumb..

    2. @Admiral Crunch I totally agree it’s almost inevitable that Trump will cancel the election he knows that he can’t win and the fear of all the jail time he’ll get from the crimes he committed in office is very strong motivation to do anything to stay in power dispute that Admiral

    3. @Admiral Crunch
This is Trump obsessed land. These imbeciles actually buy what these idiots sell.
They need a daily dose of Trump trashing to feel hole
      Pathetic little things

    4. @Grace Bertrand he isn’t an American, that is a Russian troll paid to spit out nonsense online. Ignore it. #DontFeedTheTroll 🥰😘 it’ll save your energy. ❤

  3. Trump said it was a democrat hoax and then he said he always said it was a pandemic. The White House is a bad mad tv skit. The liar and chief needs to go…

    1. Mitch Unfair to 12 year olds! 12 year olds aren’t illogical gullible cult followers who will believe anything, as long as a corrupt lying bigot says it, as a general rule.

    2. @Zack Macdowell he called it a hoax at his rally, the whole world heard him say it. Worse, that’s why so many people like the spring breakers threw all caution to the wind.

    3. @Clark Williams no other countries like s Korea have been testing more in a day than america did in weeks. Because trump told the who he didnt news their kit.

    1. Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine enable zinc’s entry into cells where it hinders/halts viral RNA replication. Liposomal Vitamin C, Zinc, Glutathione, B-Complex, Lipoic Acid, CBD, etc. is commercially available. Do the math. Hopefully the commercially available Liposomal Zinc is in the proper form for interfering with the RNA replication, this should be looked into.

Liposomes as Advanced Delivery Systems for Nutraceuticals

      Christopher W. Shade, PhD

      Additional article information

      Abstract

Liposomes are delivery vehicles for transporting substances into the body effectively via facilitating absorption directly in the mouth or by preventing breakdown by stomach acid. Since the 1970s, liposomes have been investigated as potential drug delivery systems because of their biocompatibility and ability to incorporate both hydrophilic and hydrophobic therapeutic agents. Despite early promise, it was decades later, in the late 1990s to the present, that liposome technologies could create successful commercial products. Oral deliveries are recently emerging as availability of quality phospholipids and reliable homogenization and sizing equipment have become routinely available. Nutritional industry use of liposomes will grow rapidly in the next 5–10 y. High-quality products with more complex mixtures of pure compounds and complex botanical mixtures will offer clinicians less-invasive options for dosing and delivery of these actives.

      >>At the same time, the hydrophobic fatty acid core of the bilayers could host hydrophobic compounds, creating a small spherical package that could carry both hydrophilic and hydrophobic compounds. Interactions between the liposome membrane and cell membranes further sweetened the deal and offered a promise of enhanced cellular uptake through endosomal mechanisms.8,9<< How to make Liposomal encapsulated vitamin C at home, for pennies: https://youtu.be/LXA9Dk-Zyhk

In addition, he said, it was reported from researchers in Wuhan that Chloroquine (Cq) can be used for the treatment of patients with Covid 19. The Cq molecule is present in kratom leaves, which grows in areas such as Thailand and Indonesia.

“By looking at the chemical structure of Chloroquine molecules that contain secondary and tertiary amine compound structures, it can be considered to use kratom leaves. Because Mitragynine compounds in kratom are actually secondary and tertiary amines,” Usman said.

    2. @DAVID GOERTZ your friggin president played it down, lied about it, dragged his feet, and generally did everything possible to let this disease take hold. Starting with disbanding an appropriate disease response team just in time. Well this thing will get yours too, miss self righteous.

    1. @William Engel FROM THE OFFICE OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET: CDC cuts in Trump’s budget request DID NOT affect infectious diseases and his budget request included a total of $4.3 billion in funds FOR Infectious Diseases and Preparedness. The $4.3 billion is all for infectious diseases and emergency preparedness activities, while the proposed cuts were for non-essential non-infectious activities, such as studies that have nothing to do with diseases.

He also cut an oversight committee that was ineffective and wasteful, as the positions within that committee simply mirrored management decisions that were being managed by others within the CDC.

    2. @Linda Hall please use reputable information outlets on Google and judge accordingly 🤗 Remember to VOTE BLUE IN NOVEMBER 😎

    3. @William Engel Where did I live, Kenya? No, I lived in the United States of America, at least I thought I did until Obama came along. His war on coal caused millions to lose their jobs. His unrealistic changes in health care caused over 200 rural hospitals to close. His aggressive EPA policies choked farmers and ranchers to death. I live on a small farm in the rolling hills of Virginia, and our cows could not drink fresh water from a pond or a river. Their burps have been accused of causing methane gas. Good Lord. Under Obama, my husband lost a job he held for over 26 years. We couldn’t afford medical insurance for him under Obama Care. It was three times the amount he drew in unemployment compensation. Fortunately, he is a veteran and he was covered under VA medical. Our hospital closed. Many small businesses, including our one and only car dealership, were forced to close. Thankfully, under Trump, life is springing back to life. My husband just got a new job doing what he was doing before, and our hospital reopened last November. Some small businesses were doing better, but I am not sure if they will make it now, due to the panic over Covid 19. You have been very nice and respectful in your posts, and I appreciate that, but there is no way I will ever vote blue!

    4. @Linda Hall I don’t know where you lived (Kenya was a joke) but regardless the country as a whole employs about 50,000 miners. Please feel free to ask Google or Sirius. But for the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone in their right mind would want to breathe coaldust for a living when President Obama offered Free job training in any other field than one where the life expectancy is 50 years. Remember to VOTE BLUE IN NOVEMBER 🤗

    5. @William Engel I agree that carbon should be eliminated if it harms our planet, so if he wanted to declare a war on coal, that was fine. What he did not do was create jobs in the areas being decimated by his policies. Instead, he sent billions overseas, including to countries that hate this nation and would destroy it if they could. You can tell a coal miner to go get another job, but if the government does not create jobs, where do they go? More people were out of work due to Obama’s policies than coal miners. In communities where coal is the major industry, when that industry collapses, other businesses follow suit. Some engineering and tech universities are researching for ways to burn coal cleanly. Maybe the $1.8 billion Obama sent to Iran in 2016 could have been better spent as grant’s for that. Or jobs. What unrepubable source did I cite? I am only on here because I listen to the news and do my own research before I post so i can correct misinformation, not add to it. And I will never vote blue!

    1. Dt’s uncle taught at MIT…..he was like some kind of genius which runs in the family so implies you know who ……..

  4. Trump’s self assessment: “10 out of 10”. If you can’t recognise your mistakes, you can’t be more effective.

    1. @Josie Fox Not my people!!! MAGA’s did it so you’ll have to talk to them. When you do, sit back with some popcorn and a cold one. It’s gonna be a hoot.

    2. They are trained to deflect on to someone else so you can’t see this potus mistakes….it’s called brainwashing

    3. @Fay Rudd Except that brainwashing forces you to believe something that you would not normally believe These people willingly follow along. That’s manipulation and for it to be successful you must willingly allow it.

  5. I love how Republicans always say we are all in this together until it is time to lie, cheat and steal again and then we aren’t. I do agree we are all in this with COVID – 19 but we still need to remember that they gave the largest tax break in history of the U.S. to the top 1/10th of 1% of income earners who are the exact people who need to pay the same or more than their secretary as a percentage of income as we do. It is not fair when those that make the most pay the least in taxes especially in times like these when they need to step up and pay up to help cushion the fall in the economy in which they tend to benefit the most when it is good.

    1. “I love how Republicans always say we are all in this together” that’s simply not true. Just look at all of them blaming Obama, Hillary, the Chinese, etc. Facts are never facts, they can be changed and rewritten in history for them. They will warp facts and use alternative facts instead. They are attacking dems saying only they get it and it’s the Chinese fault. They are ignorant and morally vapid. I wish we could work together but we need to vote them all out in 202. Get medicare for all, get UBi, something to help us out.

    2. @DAVID GOERTZ I will pray for you and Donny because I know you both have slipped off of the cliff with all of the other lemmings in this world. Fox is not news. It is right wing propaganda. Turn it off ditwad.

  6. Mistake he says. Trump pretty much has American blood on his hands. He stalled and wrote it off for TWO months. He should be jailed. Get him out of office.

    1. @Ginger Nightmare I watched and heard him say it was a hoax I don’t think I’m alone. He also said, it was a media and Dem plot/hoax

    2. @Linda Hall I watched and heard him say it was a hoax I don’t think I’m alone. He also said, it was a media and Dem plot/hoax

    1. @We had a nice run- Humans we have the lowest test rates of any developed country. so think about that.. in the coming weeks youll see we will be in one of the worse situations, maybe even worse than Italy.

    2. Yes, Trump intentionally caused this virus so the stock market would crash and the economy would tank during his reelection year. He wasn’t planning on using a booming economy and record stock market to campaign on, anyway. And he restricted travel to/from China in January, and formed a task force to help contain it in order to intentionally infect you with a deadly virus.

    3. @We had a nice run- Humans I’m from Taiwan, We have 13x cases and most of them are from europe and USA. Your leader is stupid. we wear mask and wash hands since day one.

    1. @DAVID GOERTZ well that was surely insightful and a deep analysis. That had nothing to do with what he said and by the way he was being facetious. Smh sensitive as people get over yourself

    2. @DAVID GOERTZ *someone makes a good point about Trump* Trump supporters say: “what about Obama/Hillary???” You idiots never cease to amaze. We’re staring at a pandemic and have an incompetent leader telling us its just a common cold. Thousands will die and thousands more infected because of his idiocy and thinking this was a hoax.. You can’t even let the jokes about him slide at a time like this. Nope. Trump supporters will defend their sinking ship until the end of time, probably even after Trump gets impeached or voted outfrom office.

  7. Trump already spent 5 trillion on bailouts and tax cuts for the rich, but we cant afford healthcare cos that’s communism. You couldn’t make it up

    1. @We had a nice run- Humans Norway has much less cases and more tests available and were hit with it sooner. You literally don’t know a single thing about healthcare.

    2. @Rick Ton ummm dude you do know Norway has 5 million people-we have more illegals in America at 15-25 million and a population of 320 million -AND Norway doesnt test until the person is a t serious level you need to wise up liberal

    3. @nosuchthing8 well every contry will eventually be able to contain it and very doubtful of the numbers that China has put out to the world. When a country silences a Doctor who only reported that a SARS like virus was found in China and later he mysteriously”dies” from the virus and Journalists critical of the Govt disappear, you cant take that Govt serious in anything they say.

  8. It has to be said – not a single republican was taking this seriously until the stock market crashed. So the GOP can kindly shut up in their “let’s not finger point” BS.

    1. @Aaliya m First of all Trump is my president, and I am happy with the job he has done so far. I will defend him when people who are so full of HATE, they would rather come on here and post misinformation and outright lies, to make him look bad, instead of watching the briefings and hearing how tirelessly he, the task force, CDC and our surgeon general are working to try and stop this outbreak. My point in previous posts is that Trump relied upon the information he was given when comparing this virus to the flu. He is not a doctor. Trump is not to blame for this virus; China is. We have been through outbreaks before, and thousands have died. I hope that is not the case now. But attacking the people who are doing everything they can to help us is dumb, in my opinion.

    2. @Linda Hall Did you know that Trump stole money from students with a fake university, that they sued him and he repaid 25million the very week of his inauguration? Did you know that he stole money from his charity for sick kids ? The SDNY shut down the charity for fraud and trump repaid 2 million. No bank in the US would lend him a dime either…these are facts not fake news. Trump is a grifter, a liar , and a thief. Why on earth would you support someone with that history ? Are you morally bankrupt as well ?

    3. @Philip Clarke You do not know me. Because we disagree on political issues does not mean that you are entitled to attack my character. I do not do that to you, or anyone on here, because I was raised better. I am happy to discuss today’s issues facing our nation with you, but I would appreciate if you would stick to the issues at hand without the condemnation. If you cannot do that, then kindly leave me alone.
I happen to think that Trump is doing an excellent job. I believe this crises will prove him to be one of the most effective presidents in history. I just listened to Dr. Fauci say that we are not nearly in the same dire situation as Italy or Spain because Trump banned travel to/from China in January. Other countries’ leaders did not. I watched Trump’s press conference today, in which he spoke about signing emergency orders and many things he has done in the last 24 hours to help alleviate the suffering, protect the most vulnerable, get a vaccine developed, etc. If you missed it, I highly suggest you watch it on youTube so you can see for yourself that Trump and his team are doing anything and everything they can to stop this virus, and get this country back on track.
Do not talk to me about corruption, while Hillary Clinton has been nothing but corrupt her entire public life. People involved with her, or who speak out against her, wind up dead. The count is at 55 “suicides” that are very suspicious and murders that are clearly murders. She is fighting subpoenas hard. If she is so innocent, why not testify to clear her name? Because she cannot, and the proverbial poop is about to hit the proverbial fan in her case, and it is too long in coming. Now, her daughter is under investigation for corruption. Joe Biden, his son Hunter, and Pelosi’s son are under investigation for corruption in China and Ukraine. From what I am hearing, a former President may also be under investigation soon for greasing his palms at the expense of the rest of us. You might want to contemplate why you continue to defend them, AND do some research on just how bad many people had it in this country under Obama. Just because MSM did not report on it does not mean it did not happen. They rarely, if ever, criticized Obama, even when he deserved it, as in waiting six months to react to N1H1 in 2009. Over 12,000 Americans died from that pandemic. You might understand why millions of Americans voted for Trump and will do so again.

    4. @Linda Hall Why is it that you trump supporters always spout the same nonsense?. Hillary this , Obama that, deep state the other…I asked you whether you deny that. Trump is a fraud based on facts. You chose to ignore that aspect of my question and I understand why.Simply put, you are prepared to overlook the fact that this ‘ president’ is a known scammer, a liar and a thief whose administration is riddled with scandals for all to see. You people were so upset that a black man was president that you would collectively hold your noses and vote for Trump. There is no doubt that he is the most incompetent, corrupt person ever to hold that office.Trump engages in public spats with people, lies every time he opens his mouth, and is intellectually deficient to say the least. The fact that you folks continue supporting this fraudulent fool says a lot about you and I say that unreservedly and without apology..goodbye

  9. What’s the public suppose to think when the pseudo President has been down playing Covid 19 for weeks, to the point of calling it a hoax.

    1. @DAVID GOERTZ lol what a looney. standing by his orange leader to the death all the while laughing at “liberals”. pathetic.

    2. Its not a hoax, its a biological weapon that should be treated as such, and Chinese Communist Party released it for that purpose, and they should be dealt with as the terrorists they are. They have no regard for human life. This fact is proven when they use their own people as test subjects first before releasing it on the rest of the world.

  10. Trump took his phony, racist wall very seriously. Lied about Mexico paying for it. Stole Congressionally appropriated funds from needed programs.
Saw a deadly worldwide epidemic developing in China but for two precious months did not bother to make contingency plans or take protective action.
Lied to Americans about the risk–called it a HOAX! Said it was nothing.
Does not care if ordinary people die or lose their life savngs. That’s also fine with wealthy Ivanka, Jared, Don Jr. and Trump’s aporoving mentor Putin.

When the leader is a mental incompetent and a traitor beholden to the foreign dictator that elected him, who is left to stand with the people?
    Nobody.

    1. @Warren Shiflett God forbid, but if it reaches a certain point even the ignorant MAGA minority will pay attention.

    2. Have you ever considered that he may not be mentally incompetent, but rather a deranged unscrupulous power hungry narcissistic sociopath?
I mean, come on now. Have we not been watching with our own eyes?

    1. Trump and his media (Hannity, Limbaugh, Tucker, Dobbs) will be calling this Republican governor a RINO.

  11. Let’s face it, Trump owns this. He fired all the staff responsible to avoid such a crisis. Period.

    1. @Fabi Grossi Bad for his numbers before election. But the facts are clear. No data this man puts out in the name of the government will reflect the truth that he has let coronavirus get out of control and without a vaccine, treatment or way to care for the sick other than the under supplied ventilators. Don’t count on the Federal government (The ship without a captain or a rudder ready to run us a ground).

    2. Michael Parrott-MacLeod I hope so too but I doubt it, my gut instinct is never wrong, and that’s how kgb operates, I put nothing past them, and I am not into conspiracy theory or social media

    3. George Minton we should, and we should be watching every single move they make, everything that stupid t.rump has done is to benefit them, not us

    1. In a snap decision Mr President called the play
