Blumenthal calls Barr a "henchman and political operative" of the President and says that he should step down immediately.

Bill Barr doesn’t have a bogus memo stopping him for being prosecuted for corruption. He doesn’t have “absolute immunity” either. Roger Stone’s original sentencing recommendation IS NOT excessive…it aligns with legal precedent

Actually, Stone could have gotten up to 50 years which at his age of 67 would have been well beyond a life sentence, so 7 to 9 years does not seem on the “harsher” side at all.
@Dawn Short The recommendation is within the sentencing guidelines. Stone’s representatives can argue the contrary and any mitigating factors.
Nothing — and no one — should come between those two court pleadings.
The judge is going to be furious when the basic norms of this criminal case are being “adjusted” in public by self-interested politicians and their cronies for the benefit of “friends” convicted by a jury.

That recommendation was also based upon the DOJ’s own guidelines, something the Republicans seem to not mention.
