Education was just one of the cuts made. The GOP has cut or not fully funded many parts which have lowered our quality of life metrics compared to other OECD nations. They didn’t want to fund restocking the national stockpile. We don’t fund education. We don’t fund enough for infrastructure. Our electrical grid, strategic military bases housing our nuclear ballistic missiles, are operating under 1960s-70s setup. The only things funded are the Dept. of Defence, and the Dept. of Deep pockets, ie tax cuts. We’re like a household who keeps watch on the bank account, pays the Mercedes, all while the house is falling apart around us.

Not really. Quite a lot people were already aware of the lack of good governance with this administration. You would have needed to live under a rock or in blissfull ignorance to only now notice.
All that is required to realize the trouble we have been in for decades is an open eye. For many people it takes a disaster to force their eyes open. Our govt has been brazenly dysfunctional since the late 80’s

Why does the US have 4% of the global population and 20-25% of deaths? Why does Trump encourage his followers to resist preventives and lockdowns? Why didnt Trump deploy dedicated assets? Why didnt the initiate rigorous testing when warned?

Tests for it had to be invented, then the equipment to make them made, and then the tests actually made. Everyone that has Covid antibodies in an autopsy gets counted as Covid. Hospitals have incentives to diagnose deaths with Covid. Don’t take my word for it, do a simple search or to for reimbursement rates. Resist preventatives? Masks have been proven not to work. And who exactly was telling everyone that hydroxychloroquine was bad- even though it has 60 years of use already? Was that Trump? So who is resisting preventatives? Finally, I’ve no idea what you mean by dedicated assets. Explain that one for me.

So then Trump and Kushner meet on March 21and decide not to implement comprehensive testing so Trump could blame Dem leaders for their outbreaks… and Trump babbles “Testing causes cases…”, and “I told them to slow the testing down…” and now its “herd immunity” = let em get sick, let em die…
