Hillary didn’t have the buckets of paint to paint a picture of Trump, Biden does have that paint. Ignore Trump’s rally talk and paint the picture of Trump’s failure instead, Trump lies and goes over the top so they will react and allow him to control the content of the conversation. If you respond at all say repeatedly Don has not answered the question again and I will not respond to his rally lies, then answer the question for Trump. I agree completely Cheryl, it would just aggravate me to see Trump lie and lie again (and Wallace has said he isn’t going to be doing any fact-checking, even on stuff he knows personally to be false, on either candidate i.e. Trump).
If I may pick your brain as a European watching American politics from the inside out, Trump by my count has had 14 major scandals in 4 years, besides the compulsive lying that alone should disqualify someone from being the most powerful person on Earth… how is it possible that even with a +9 for Biden, Trump still has a 1 in 4 chance of winning (which isn’t nothing!).
How can anyone be so willfully blind as to consider re-electing a leader who has measurably made the world, let along America, a much worse place by almost every metric possible?? If Trump steals this election using unfaithful electors or the SCOTUS throwing out millions of uncounted ballots in a dead-line challenge, I hate to say it, but if y’all lose your democracy it won’t be dissimilar to Northern Germany voting in the Nazis in 1933. In a way, your country will deserve the autocracy it gets (with true sympathies for anyone not in the Trump cult) if the country, or even a big enough minority to hand Trump another non-popular vote electoral college win, so little values the American experiment of the last 244 years, it doesn’t deserve its democracy.
And I worry over the next few decades that without any outside intervention at all, America will tear itself apart from the inside out with the no-holds barred, scorched earth tactics, pure obstructionist strategy the GOP have been engaged in since the Bill Clinton presidency. No need for enemies foreign, there are plenty of enemies domestic, to make this happen. How far the USA has fallen and abandoned allies while rewarding enemies in just 4 years. Diplomats are now hyper-partisan and forging links with far right-wing parties in the countries they are posted to… that has never been the job of an ambassador, who are supposed to be representing American interests, not playing with messing with the politics of their host countries.
If God-forbid Trump steals a 2nd term, mark my words, he will pull the US completely out of NATO which will trigger flashpoints around the world, not the least of which would be Russia invading Latvia, or creating a ersatz separatist movement as in far Eastern Ukraine… will Canada, Germany, the UK, France and Italy (the bigger militaries left) go to bat for Latvia the way the Eastern European NATO members will support? Oy yoy yoy, sorry for writing so much, I’ll stop now as now to make myself even sick.
