Agree to a point, then disagree. We can only blame so much and no more on external factors. I went to a very prominent high school where my own classmates from inner city communities brought illegal firearms to school. No one was ever shot and they didn’t bring it when we were in disagreement. We also had a phase where we bought knives. The thing is, the music will always be there. Movies will always be there. Video games will always be there. Along with those, the FAMILY needs to be there. The family and community dynamics changed from what it used to be. The kids now are not being taught from early the value of life vs the value of things.
Another counter point, many of us grew up in church and there are even more churches now than when we were growing up. By your maths, the country should be more christian like but that isn’t the case. The family and society in general just needs to be more hands on in teaching the upcoming generations the value of life. Spend less time on the gram, the snap, playing ball wid fren every free moment or chill out pon ends a smoke and drink away life. Spend it with the kids. Teach them.

These children needs to be routingly checked on entering school premises to ensure that they are not in posession of any form of dangerous weapons and be monitored in the dining rooms that they are not sneaking knives from the canteen… Carrying knives into school is the intension to cause bodily harm to others…so so so sad stabbed to death over something useless as a ring….it was meditated/ planned…ja ja ja my heart bleeds for jah ppl/ youths….it is a crying out shame , school has just re open after a long closure due to the virus covid 19 , one would think they would be joyous to see their class mate’s instead it is a battle field running red..not too long ago another girl was stabbed up by another girl fighting at another school , my heart saddens to see what is going on with these broken children…my condolences goes out to the parents of the promissing child that lost his young life through thugs/ bullyism…😥😪🙈🇯🇲

You need to close down all school, and institute new form of knowledge, as it is written in the National Prayer, “Grant True Wisdom From Above” this prayer should be recited every morning before anything. Why do you need security at School of all places? The Leaders are the real problem

School has to follow the correct channel. The student has to be suspended, then the board notified of incident(depending on the nature of the incident). Board will then make a decision on how the matter will dealt with. You will be surprised how many children advocate groups will come out for these students.
