Summer camp isn’t a thing where I’m from. There are the creepy people that send their kids to bible camp to be brainwashed and molested. But most of the parents around here are actually parents and WANT to spend summer with their children.

Without regular testing of every American citizen, using proven and reliable tests for both current infection and antibodies, as well as contact tracing, there is literally no way the numbers will ever be accurate nor a way to dig ourselves out of this hole. And due to the lack of Federal leadership, there is no way any of that will happen until a competent President and administration are running the White House.

Aussie here. It’s getting pretty cold and we have just reached 100 deaths most of the deaths occurred in the warmer months. We have successfully flattened the curve to the point where we are phasing into reopening ( not that it closed down entirely) shops and businesses where I live have remained open with restrictions and guidelines in place and industry keeps chugging along. We can now have several visitors, travel greater distance, kids going back to school, restaurants opening with limited seating etc.
So refreshing to hear clear guidance.

True, but it will be a second major spike in cases. I guess you could call it a tsunami, as they usually have multiple waves and doesn’t recede until they’re done hitting.
There’s no cure. The chances that you actually get Covid-19 is slim. Then if you do have it the chances you die is even more slim. Before people start screaming, what do you expect the world to do? Stay at home for another 4-5 months-2 years? If you are afraid, stay home. The world is moving on. Of course ti will spread.
@SouthSide Chicago The idea behind staying home is to slow it down. But, we need to adapt tho the new normal and go out wearing the right kind of protecion against the virus. If we isolate it, it will dissipate slowly in the next few years. If we let it keep going, it will become endemic.
We are the vehicle of transmission, the “vectors.” The virus uses humas to reproduce and needs humans to pass it on, if humans find a way to slow down passing it on, we stand a chance.
If infection rates drop below 0.7 %, it will eventually fade away in a few years.
It won’t be easy, but, it can be done. It requires discipline and leadership. Disgracefully, in the USA we lack both.
