Why is this news? In Asia, people wear masks whenever they get the cold to reduce the risk of infecting others. This has been in use since SARS almost 20 years ago.
Wrong. Mask wearing in Asia is a norm because of the toxic air they have. They wear it so they dont get sick from it. The whole infectious disease came afterwards.
It doesn’t actually reduce the risk though. If we use common sense and stop being zombies, one would understand how germs work.
Think about the entire process of putting your mask on, taking it off, etc. do you think that mask has no germs on it?
Fact of the matter is, if you don’t want to infect someone, stay away from them. Covering your mouth and nose won’t stop germs that are more than likely already on your clothing.

@cheeze 11 did you read the agreement on irs.gov they expect us to give up or 4 adminment and possibly be constantly monitored to receive payment. @Kelly Farver I started my research over 20 years ago , right now our death toll is a Vietnam and This is the kind of attitude that will make it a WW2 in the number of deaths , when my grandfather was in WW1 they had to do things like pea on their masks to survive the atact. can’t we show are veterans so respect in their time of need by helping to protect their lives now by simply putting are masks on ? Or is this too much of an inconvenience to ask for? The whole world but America got it wrong ?

A common sense that Asian countries knew 3 months ago and US need a scientist to do the experiment. Remember CDC’s guideline “no need to wear mask unless you are sick”? That’s absurd.
@DARLING Blame yourselves. At the very beginning, the US should have tested those ppl who were in contact with those already known infected. But you were lazy and complacent. Many non western countries already know the importance of contact tracing to contain the epidemic. That’s not China fault if stupid ppl voted for a stupid president.

They are reporting the new info released by sme’s. Okay, 1. there were not enough masks for health workers – can’t have 350 mill ppl buying what little there is, 2. They have been doing experiments to see the spread vectors 3. China, Korea, Italy did not have enough clinical data on spread….focus was surfaces, 4. If they said where a mask, would people? @Jon Jonas What does “democrats” have to do with anything? Viruses don’t care what your politics are. Why is it democrats job to do anything? Only the president has the authority to invoke the defense production act. Why did the president cut finding for the CDC two years ago – specifically the parts that do foreign monitoring? Why did he dismantle the pandemic response team? Why did he do a 2 trillion dollar tax cut for his rich buddies and now states don’t have money for supplies? The democrats had no control over any of that.
And the narrative isn’t changing every five minutes. It has changed in two months. During that 60 day period, the number of confirmed cases went from about 15 to over 500,000. The tactics needed to fight a disease are different when the numbers are that different. When you’ve got 15 cases, the best way to fight the disease is to prevent others from getting it in the first place. But when you’ve got 500,000 cases, the goal changes to stopping people from giving to to others. That’s not a conspiracy or a flip flop. The circumstances have changed, so the tactics to deal with it have to change. Simple as that.
And masks and tests should have been ordered – not in March – but in JANUARY when we first knew the disease was in the US. Democrats don’t have the authority to order masks. Again, the only person with the authority to invoke the Defense Production Act is Donald Trump, and last I checked he was republican.
Trump delayed because he thought it would make him look bad to have an outbreak on his watch and by the time he took it seriously, it was too late. Now we have the highest number of cases in the world and 1 out of 3 deaths from the virus are in the USA. If you’d stop making everything political and listen to a pandemic expert, you’d understand.

@Forty Six South Korea a very smaller country compared to United States actually has an implemented task force who spray isopropyl alcohol of 60% or more on all potential public contaminated surfaces. The Koreans are used to the Chinese viruses, the West is not.
