This blocking of witnesses, gag orders on them, etc is EXACTLY what our PM, Trudeau has done and is doing without even trying to hide it and gets away with it. He almost brags about it. @Rebecca P I know it faces challenges in the senate, because the republicans are in trumps pocket, for now. It won’t face challenges based off law. They’ve been investigation trump for three years because he’s been blatantly corrupt during his entire illegitimate presidency. You look and you’ll see this, the facts are all there, in trumps own statements, documents etc. None of their investigations have been failures, but they knew the challenges they would face with the senate and have held off until they had something that was a clear and obvious impeachment, without being confusing for the public and members in Congress. Yes, I think part of their decision to hold off was political, but that doesn’t lessen his impeachable offence, which is undeniable via (again) trumps own statements/admissions and the documents. You just watch, as things progress, those members in senate will start to scatter and separate themselves from trump. They already have. You notice they’re very silent right now, it’s because they know what’s occurred and publicly stating to the contrary puts them in compromising situations. Fact is trump will be leaving office soon. If not via impeachment or resignation, it’ll be via the vote. When he does leave, there will be indictments waiting for him for his numerous criminal offences. 100% they’ve been working on strengthening that case quietly in the background.

Incorrect, there is nothing saying the house needs to actually hold a vote. A congressional subpoena is a congressional subpoena no matter the circumstances.
