The White House defended President Joe Biden's age after Nikki Haley called for anyone over the age of 75 to take a mental competency test.

Nikki Haley, the South Carolina governor and former U.N. ambassador, formally launched her campaign a call for “mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old.”
That line was surely aimed at pleasing Republicans who’ve convinced themselves that 80-year-old President Joe Biden is senile. But it was also a shot at 76-year-old former President Donald Trump, a candidate as well, and at a sizable swath of the GOP’s most reliable base of voters.

If Holly is calling for that mental competency test for any political candidate over the age of 75, then it should be given to Trump as well since he is now 76 years old. And, just because President Biden is now 80 years old, does not mean he does not know what he is doing as president. What Holly is asking for should be applied to all political candidates running for major office like U.S. President whether they are 80 years old or 40 years old.

@Michael Hunziker I have not forgotten that Trump is not in office at this time. However, he is currently running for office and Holly’s suggestion should be applied to folks both running for major political office and for those who are already there. It needs to be applied equally across the board, no matter the age and gender or political party.

@Gary Wetzel Considering how Trump was in the last 2 years he was in office, especially in the days after he very honestly outright lost the 2020 presidential election, I have serious doubts that not only did Trump take that test as you claimed. But, the accuracy of the results of that test also. And, that test should not be a one time thing either. For it should be taken before and after getting into that major political office. If Nikki Holly is really insisting on that mental competency test, it should be given across the board to make it 100% fair and honest for all in a major political office and those folks seeking a major political office.

Trump the best president in recent history? Not a chance in hell for George W. Bush was a much, much better Republican president than Trump ever was on multiple levels. And, the Republican party was also on multiple levels much more stable when George W. Bush was in office than when Trump was in office and even now because of Trump. Trump has as much of a chance of going back to the White House as Jeffrey Epstein does from coming back from the dead.
