It was to show why we need a different system now, since ya know, the country snd world are a very different place now and thus should be ran differently than 200 plus years ago. Makes sense to most people. Which is why public opinion for reform is higher now than ever. What I said definitely occured at the time of the electoral college. However the electoral college was just a cobbled together method to elect the president, which we should definitely rethink now, as people back centuries ago had no access to public education and now we do. Back then far more people were illiterate and slavery had a big part in the decision to create the electoral college as well. My point has been that the USA is a very different country now than it was when the founding fathers drafted the starting legislation, but they never intended it to be a perfect system devoid of improvements.
