Weissmann Thinks We Could See Trump Self-Pardon If He Doesn't Win Reelection | Deadline | MSNBC

  1. I’d like to see him try. Whether it works or it doesn’t, it will serve as a tacit admission of his crimes and cement his legacy as the most corrupt president in American history.

    1. The minute he does it will go to court to be overturned. that’s why he needs Amy Barrett on the Supreme Court to make sure the pardon stands. Election meddling is secondary

    2. @Eastern Woods If she is a true believer Catholic, she will not; if she is a true believer T rump cultist, she would certainly give him a pass.

    3. Trump to Biden: “If you don’t pardon me, I will give all our launch codes to Putin”. ” If you don’t pardon me, I will sell Alaska back to Russia for S$1″. “f you don’t pardon me, I will not tell you where are the bugs Putin placed in the White House, and Senate”. “If you pardon me, I will give you copies of all the pee tapes Putin has on Moscow Mitch, Leningrad Graham, Gym Jordan”. The Art of the Deal!

    1. I think he has a better chance Federally hopping Biden will be ‘moving forward instead of backward’ . The pardon will be challenged by Biden’s justice and once they go there they might need crimes or it might start some digging.

  2. Why do you think this fool is so scared about losing the election? He’s in for a whole lot of hurt!! Probably best if he fakes an illness then plead health and insanity issues as his defense for not going to jail! PS: Did Eric Trump flip on his daddy?

    1. Or do as the french or the italian does.
Guillotine or quartered, seems prison would be the lowest risk one. #45 orange will wise to choose the orange jumper.

  3. The possibility that a criminal could simply pardon himself…..is a huge joke and failing within our system. Are we all idiots?

    1. The framers of the Constitution never dreamed they’d have to spell out what’s acceptable or not in a POTUS.

    2. Dj Sugarbear Why did they even discuss that, it’s not legal, reasonable or logical. Why don’t people talk about how is going to be prosecuted if he doesn’t exit the the office when he loses?

    3. @A Mills people learned a few years ago that if you attack the “cop” hard enough, you can derail the trial.
Sometimes the cop deserves it, sometimes they dont
Heroes and villains defend systems, and attack them.

  4. How about the $17 million TRUMP got for hurricane damage he suffered at Mar Lago which never occurred in 2005

    1. I’m aware of tons of his corrupt shenanigans, but not this…where are the receipts to learn more please?
      💙🌊💙🌊💙🌊💙TX VOTER

  5. it’s so stupid to pardon somebody without being judge. Trump cant pardon himself; he cannot be judge and part of the problem. Only an ignorant as Trump dare to say stupid things.

    1. Trump doesn’t care what anyone thinks. He is a narcissist. If no one stops him, he will do whatever he wants.

    2. Silvia G. — There are a few cases where it makes sense. For example, President Carter pardoned all of the Vietnam-era draft evaders. I think that was clearly the right thing to do. President Ford’s pardon of Nixon was more controversial, but I don’t have a problem with it.

  6. TRUMP CANNOT PARDON HIMSELF OUT OF HIS 200 MILLION DOLLAR DEBT TO DADDY VLADY,CAUSE YOU CANT STIFF THE MOBFATHER.💀

    1. @Ariki Royal Happens to folks that upset Vlad … He is KGB when all said and done ( no such thing as ‘ ex ‘ KGB , that training stays with you for life … )

    1. Lol you can’t impeach someone because you thought they would commit a crime. LOL stupidest things you people come up with to rationalize your partisanship.

    1. ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ says:

@DM Tea the founding fathers didn’t expect partisan sycophants to not even give donald a trial tho

    1. @Sue Zbell Owing taxes has two remedies: 1) you pay it off. 2) you go to prison. Unless you’re the president and self-pardoning comes to fruition then there is literally no consequence. No paying tax. No prison term served. Just America left holding the bag. Its essentially a being charged restitution to pay back a large sum of money with a a kind of nod-wink understanding that that money will never be able to be paid back by the individual. The system is broken in about 100000 different ways to each month’s second Tuesday of the last half-century.

    2. @Sara Kahl – The 1 and only benefit of Trump being impeached was the taking away of his ability to pardon himself. He literally can’t do it as an impeached POTUS.

  7. I don’t see Trump pardoning himself. That would be an admission of guilt. Something he has never done. But if the 25th amendment tactic is successful, I could see Trump convincing Pence to do it. That is Trump Classic, always keeping his own hands clean (ish). It’s always about plausible deniability with this guy. Look at how many around him have gone down while he still stands.

    1. Trump doesn’t even have to try to convince Pence. He would pardon him in a heartbeat. Yes, Trump knows how to keep his hands clean. That’s how he operates and how he could stay afloat in the business world. What a crook!

  8. Really? Nobody can “self-pardon” themselves. The suggestion is that of a full blown banana republic, is that what the USA is now?

  9. When Trump loses, he should immediately be removed and evicted so can not cause anymore harm to the country

  10. Trump shouldn’t be allowed to run for reelection being impeached. It should be an automatic disqualification.

    1. Also, if any wannabe POTUS or a POTUS seeking re-election does not commit to a peaceful transfer of power they should be disqualified immediately.

    2. Donnie has been getting away with criminal behavior all his horrid life !
Karma is just getting started with the parasite!
