The feds have let this go to far to fast Raise rates now
The fed and provincial government need to free up lands for water. and sewer projects
Maybe stop letting big companies, or foreigners who don’t live in Canada, from buying houses and properties.
Yeah, that’s a big problem!
It’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? Really, really pisses me off. Nobody that doesn’t live in Canada should be able to purchases homes in Canada.
100%
Blackrock
@TessaG Same with USA
“I don’t want to get into the politics”, said Evan as he questions politicians. Doink… ROFLMAO
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
There are to many investors…..Stop investors right now…
I’m sure what ever they decide to do will just hurt middle class Canadians and help the rich get richer.
That’s why they are taking so long to make a change….they need to make sure the rich still make more than the poor.
Every thing now stacked against Middle class Canada. Liberals and NDP , some PC politicians really believe any Canadian in main cities, owner of a house is rich and should be taxed to death.
That’s a guarantee.
How about only Canadian can buy property in Canada?
Well that’s racist……or something. Diversity is our strength, I guess, I don’t know.
They do that is some countries. You have to be born there to buy and own a property.
@austin veno Then owning a house is also racist. Living a better life than in a 3-rd world country is racist too.
I think the foreign buyers are an issue as well as organized crime, the money printing doesn’t help.
My landlord just bought his fifth house, and I agree he should have that right. Airbnb, uber, doordash are removing layers to jobs. Current flat wages are a problem, its hard to find a job that will pay you the $30 to live decently after being a lifer. $15/hour is almost arguably not enough as a surviving/starting wage. I spent $7 one way transit from Richmond Hill to down town GTA, making that $200/month in travel. Now it’s $7.50. Rent ~$700 for a ROOM, $75 internet, $75 phone/service, ~$200 food, $250 for credit & NSLSC, ~$200 necessities (shoes, pants, movie, subscriptions, night out with friends). Where is there room to save? Prescriptions? Car? Actual Apartment? Extra Schooling? Accidents(fridge)? Computer upgrade?
@Alex Guolo drinking, partying and going to movies. Wating fast food all the time. These things are not essential, those are called LEISURE. No wonder you have money issues.
@Alex 1 I’m talking about about necessities for living not survival.
@Alex 1 A brain dead patient survives on feeding tubes and oxygen. I would rather be dead
Try insurance and repair cost like plumbing and electrical
Maintaining my pet’s quality of life is priority. Nutritious food and vet services don’t come cheap.
The problem is Canadian government gets tax revenue from real estate appreciation. This problem will only get worse and worse..
Two books worth reading that come to mind: David Ley’s Millionaire Migrants and Sam Cooper’s Wilful Blindness.
if you think this is bad, imagine what your grandchildren will have to pay lol
Maybe stop letting big companies, or foreigners who don’t live in Canada, from buying houses and properties.
Federal and Provincial governments could put an end to this housing crisis immediately. But they choose not to. Despicable.
How about not letting foreigners or investment companies buy in Canada. We’ve been saving for a few years to buy our own place and some days it feels like it’s getting no closer.
The basic point is, investors are buying all the housing and renting them out at exorbitant prices that Canadians can’t afford bc wages do not keep up with inflation. None of these measures the liberals want to try r going to b sufficient to clean up the mess they made. Conservatives need to stop blocking everything n the NDP need to speak up and fight for those demands that will help Canadians.
It shouldn’t take 4 full-time working adults to be approved for a mortgage.
Loving how Mr Poilievre neutralized Evans … how can you, with a straight face, suggest there is no bubble?
Evans is paid by Turdeau
Why don’t Government consider freezing the house prices, just like people’s salaries get frozen when budget is tight?
How can we have a real debate about this or anything when as soon as we get past polite intros and whatever else “whoops” sorry got to cut to commercials. Thanks for talking about an intensively complex topic for 10 minutes. This is insane.
Everything that comes out of Pierre’s mouth is the honest truth Canada.Every thing he has said in the past has come true!WE ARE IN VERY BIG TROUBLE!Save your money for food and water and get ready to be trapped in your overvalued home!Maybe it’s time to give UBI a try and recalculate these other useless and confusing programs.
