  1. The political persons must remember that if there were a Teachers they wouldn’t be where they’re more today it’s not easy for teachers with, responsibility to teach all year without timeout Thank you

  2. Mr Golding you are attacking teachers unfairly. You’re full of ‘THIS’. BTW, move the letters around to solve the puzzle; you will get a sticker reserved for redundant PMs.

  3. I wonder whose parent(s) were teachers? Are you really speaking against teachers and you know very well the strain on teachers if they don’t break from continuous teaching? Smh

    1. So true. I would like to see some of these politicians who love to blame teachers try to teach at a public school for a day..smh

  4. What frigging disgrace who is in charge of the country can’t they recall the laborite government for being deaf to the complaint.

  5. I hope that Bruce Golding will research and present on how POLITICS HAS IMPACTED EDUCATION IN A NEGATIVE WAY…I will be watching and listening..scape goat he is looking…He should not even be on this public platform. We have not forgotten why you had to pack your thing and go..kmt..

  6. Does Bruce Golding know what it’s like to be teaching in this day and age with the kind of students we are seeing nowadays? A good number of children show no interest in learning and have no respect for authority. Teachers cannot do it alone. Many parents are not taking responsibility for their children’s learning and this has nothing to do with their level of education. Many parents are simply not interested in their children’s education and the children in turn have adopted the same attitude to their education.

    1. Are these children mothered and fathered by responsible individuals. Jamaica will have a serious problem with young people because most households are headed by females. The research data is there to show delinquent rates among teenagers are the HIGHEST for female headed households.

  7. Education is expensive for a lot of parents who are unspoiled, they can’t afford the cost to register their childrens and you don’t hear any of them addressing that problem.

  8. Give us our full 2 months summer break then and keep your vacation leave. Teachers hardly gets summer. I was at school every school day this July. I was there yesterday as well.

  9. It’s a right thing to eat and drink health but it’s another thing when you can’t afford to eat and drink health , health food is expensive here in Jamaica, so we have to eat and drink what we can afford

  10. If teachers should get paid re performance then the government shouldn’t get any pay because they are not performing

  11. We are still producing doctors , lawyers, computer specialist and many more professionals ..and politicians.

  12. Every child learn differently and some need special education teachers to help. Our teachers are all specialists…trained to teach different courses. I don’t think we are training enough special teachers and many of these specialist go abroad

  13. bauxite and government need punishment .our water is all we have whenworld running out . Are we going have to take our lives in our destino.

  14. Everyone rushing teachers who rushing the parents. Everything starts at home, students prioritize the wrong things in lots of cases this is coming from home. What is the gov doing about the bad behaviors of students that keeps hampering teaching and learning. Teachers are insulted and assaulted what comes of it? Teachers em ave strength for why em nuh use the strength nd eloquence in speech to fix the social issues affecting the country.

  15. My son has being taking lunch from basic, primary and high school. Thank God he is humble child. I get up and cook every morning. The sacrifice was worth it and my son always preferred I cook.

  16. There’s a lot of reforming that is needed in Jamaica. From the teaching profession to policing to crime and law enforcement, from environmental control to mining, from housing to banking. It’s gonna take a political leader with big balls to make these reforms. The problem with Jamaica, we don’t have leaders with vision.

  17. I agree with you Mr Smith, if they want to eat unhealthy at least it’s off the school compound, eventually they will adapt healthy eating. 😉
