Watch: Speaker Nancy Pelosi announces future plans

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is poised to announce Thursday what her future will look like, a day after Republicans claimed a majority in the House in the next congressional term.

Her decision to either seek another term as the Democratic leader or to step aside has been widely anticipated. It comes after her party was able to halt an expected Republican wave in the House and Senate in midterm elections, but also in the aftermath of a brutal attack on her husband, Paul, last month in their San Francisco home.

“The Speaker plans to address her future plans tomorrow to her colleagues. Stay tuned,” Pelosi's spokesperson Drew Hammill tweeted late Wednesday.

The speaker “has been overwhelmed by calls from colleagues, friends and supporters,” Hammill said, and noted that she had spent Wednesday evening monitoring election returns in the final states where ballots were still being counted.

    1. @Bonita Edlebeck Unfortunately with things of the economy, Presidents don’t have as much impact as you would think. This situation started with COVID-19 and some businesses are taking advantage and price gouging. I don’t disagree that Biden couldn’t be doing more, but Unless Trump would have been willing to deal with businesses price gouging, I don’t think the economy would be much different.

    2. @Bonita Edlebeck I agree, we can only speculate, but I have studied enough economics and loved through enough Presidents of both parties to be fairly confident that both parties are about the same when it comes to economic results.

  1. The vitriol that is so overwhelmingly negative seems so much like hatred wishing both parties the best of luck God bless them and let’s stop hating and start Reaching Across the aisle so are two-party system isn’t perfect but they’re both needed and stop kicking out members of are public servants doing what they’re supposed to do by having discussions debates But ultimately do so much more than the lame duck, do nothing political standstill that goes on and on and on

    1. Problem was she was no#1 that stopped that from happening. Wish it could have been different and maybe this country wouldn’t be where it is now. But Iam sure any fact or negativity is on deaf ears…we see only what we choose and hear only what we hope to hear. Iam left with hope that things start to bring both parties together to do for the American people. Only time will tell…very skeptical I think things have been to divided to make changes.

    1. How about,
“If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.”

    2. @J.3 m. And your point is? I can quote things from books too, but the idea of quoting something is to add meaning to the conversation.

  2. That’s what everyone decent is afraid of the babies that will be born and living to the Future that your people are developing for them will be a damn disaster

  3. I respected Nancy Pelosi until she tore up President Trump’s speech. I was appalled at her behavior in front of “we the people”. Good bye Nancy and good riddance!!

  4. At least she and her son went to Taiwan to secure $$$$deals on conductors to build electric cars because they are forcing those vehicles on the builders to sell to consumers so their wealth is secure and that’s how they ‘fix’ the climate. At least she is worth how many Billions?

  5. She needs to step down from any leadership role and stop running for office. And Dems need to replace her with a leader who isn’t a corporate shill and Warhawk. In other words, no Hakeem Jeffries or someone like that.

  6. For all here who had to come on and make nasty comments: Didn’t your Elders ever teach you “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!” Your nasty comments were not pertinent to the moment or the message of the speech. You don’t have to agree with Ms. Pelosi to be civil. Humankind….Be Both.

  7. I’m just here for the comments… not even playing the video 😆🤪
    God blessed America today 🇺🇸

    1. Hehe:) I thought it was 365 days of a year since you dont have to explain to anyone? Except from that; Why u americans have so OLD politicians in both parties? Why not change it into a more advanced system.. I really dont understand

  8. *”The House will be in order!”* 😂🤣😂🤣 *That ship has sailed. Goodbye & good riddance woman. Too bad this video doesn’t show her being yanked around like a rag doll at the end.* 🤣 *To the timekeeper…YOU’RE FIRED!!! now leave.*

    1. Am happy to hear Mrs. Margaret has been mentioned here. Am a proud beneficiary and grateful for her good work

  10. I have NO respect in her. When she showed her child like emotions Ripping up President Trump’s speech, was the most Temper tantrum I’ve seen in an adult
