In 1924, Macy's held its first parade but instead of focusing on Thanksgiving it was called Macy's Christmas Parade. The parade was held just by store employees and the hope was the celebration would influence customers to shop for the coming Christmas holiday.

@Alphawolf0 Yes. When we watch it on television we would like to see enough to feel immersed in the event so the enjoyment and happiness the parade brings to most is realized. Unfortunately someone else at the network sees an opportunity to exploit and monetize further an event we use to be able to watch uninterrupted for a longer periods of time. Happy Holidays

I love the opportunity to watch the parade without all the ads. A real at the parade experience. However I would say that being fully zoomed in on people on the floats takes away from the experience. I’d like to see the full float and not be forced to just watch one person whom is riding on said float. If you wanted to zoom in to show who was on the float for a second or two and then zoom out to see the float that would’ve been better. Just a missed opportunity to be the best video of the parade. If I wanted to focus on the people on the floats I’d watch it on NBC or CBS but I really just wanted a better experience watching the parade in full and all the extreme zooming ruins seeing the floats.

Best parade coverage this year! It felt like I was there watching it myself. No annoying commentators opinions. No cutting away to interview anyone.
And on this video of the parade, we get to see many things the tv does not show because they feel the need to put commercials on,,,I especially love seeing all the people dressed up and the smaller floats and the balloon handlers as well! ☺️🥰🌈

@Rita we were watching nbc with Savanna and Hoda,, ..I do enjoy their interviews with people, but they have too much broadway stuff on, so thats why we like to watch it on youtube at the same time☺️🌈

Although I do miss the broadway performances before the parade.

We switched to this stream when a couple of people on Twitter suggested it. A LOT more enjoyable to watch than the network TV coverage (especially CBS). We caught stuff in the parade that were skipped in the coverage. Thank you for the video!

How great to see the Macy’s parade at street level, just like I was really there! And the Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda) balloon, chasing his favorite shifter knob toy, was so cool!
