  1. So he De Santass wants young people to start thinking for themselves at school? Why then. Republicans don’t!!
Republican are still fighting commies, Voters, Dems, and anyone with a brain!!

    1. @Larinda Nomikos I did, That’s why I made the comment I did instead of brainlessly echoing whatever red scare propaganda has been rammed down my throat by this country all my life.

    2. @SassyViking I heard communist china has a new opening in their Muslim genocide camps. Don’t worry, it’s just cultural differences, i am sure communist china is an open and tolerant

  2. I hope you all get this? The ultimate Cancel Culture, short of murder, is suppressing education. The GOP are a fascist threat. ✌️

    1. @Biden sucks until you educate yourself about the laws and processes of this county.. just shut up. Save us time

    2. @Shahnul Islam Very observant let me know when the time limit is up so I can have an opinion like you Osama bin Laden

    3. @Shahnul Islam I am offended I am educated I know that there is only one God and that’s Jesus Christ God bless you my son may you go in peace

  3. Rep. Val Demings’ political track record is remarkable; an outstanding long-term “LEADER” vs. Desantis deceives and overstates his successes identical to 45th.

    1. I fear desantis is rapidly becoming trump #2. And in preparation for his 2024 run for POTUS has made Florida his practice canvass.

  4. The rest of the first world takes liberal education, universal healthcare, reasonable gun laws and free and democratic elections as basic human rights.

    1. @Stefan Jakubowski It’s only liberal in the minds of conservatives, who don’t want the coming generations to have any new information. To them, change is always bad.

  5. Just so everyone knows if they found that more college students were voting Republican they would be pro-education and talking about everyone needs to be educated.

  6. DeSantis appears to wake up every morning thinking, “How would The Chinese Communist Party solve a problem like this in their universities?” Then acts accordingly.

  7. De Santis needs to find out why a 12 storey building has collapsed in his state..One dead at this point but much rumble..

  8. Sign of a bad parent is being afraid that your children will have different political beliefs than your own.

    1. @Oroborus that’s what Americans need to stop being complacent about. Trump just gave the right-wing racist a reason not to hide in the shadows anymore and DeSantis, while not an intellectual genius, he is still more politically savvy than trump and just as ruthless and narcissistic.

  9. I’ll tell you, these vague word choices that can’t be pinned down, like “indoctrination” leaves a lot open for interpretation. I don’t like it. Desantis doesn’t get to decide how people arrive at their opinions. Get these fascist criminals out of our government.

    1. Indoctrination implies only one view or thought, not a multitude of ideas and perspectives that a college or university setting encourage. He’s trying to lump everything they don’t agree with into one box, so that they can place every single person they don’t like into it.

These people are devoid of genuine ideas, and they don’t know how to properly defend their ideas in a forum. God forbid someone make their ideas look ridiculous or, GASP, maybe challenge them to reconsider their own position on an issue.

They started throwing hissy fits when a series of alt right provocateurs were having speaking gigs cancelled on various campuses, and while I don’t agree with people throwing bricks through windows and raging about their presence in a college building, I think people were losing sight of why they were there in the first place, instead choosing to argue about free speech.

It was the campus who booked them, not the students, and they did so knowing the publicity it would bring, and the engagement it would incite in people beyond their campus. It’s not a genuine learning experience for the students, it was always another money grab. It was not a proper forum for debate on political ideology, it was spectacle. And that’s what Republican lawmakers are seizing on, the “right” to push a singular ideology into places of learning, and treat the rest as spectacle, and not genuine criticisms or rebuttals to their own biases. They’re attempting to supplant all other schools of thought with one they identify with, because their chosen ideology was roundly rebuked there. Now they’re occupying seats of power, so they’re overreaching to suppress and threaten those who would openly defy their perspectives. Not great.
