Following a deadly mass shooting at one if its stores, Walmart, the largest retailer in the U.S., is halting ammunition sales for assault style rifles and handguns, and is banning shoppers from openly carrying while inside its stores. Thomas Marshall, a Walmart employee who sent a petition to stop gun sales to his CEO, said he and other employees felt they ‘would no longer be willingly complicit.’

Walmart Workers Advocated For Change, No Longer 'Complicit' | The Beat With Ari Melber | MSNBC
That’s some decent news.
Thank you Walmart
20 years late and a half measure but an important step forward so thank you Walmart
I would say 50 years late, the guest looks like he just walked out of 1963.
@Paul Peterson I meant to suggest they should have done it shortly after Columbine
@Vacation Impossible I got it, just wanted to note the outfit, but you are entirely correct.
@Vacation Impossible we should ban cars and make heroin illegal next!
Well… It’s a start I guess. Let’s hope this sentiment snowballs and continues further.
inch by inch
i am not a fan of walmart’s actions on the most part, but here i really thank them
Literally the first time I can say, nice work Walmart. It’s a step. I personally appreciate it.
Laws don’t work, maybe rules will. Criminals and psychopaths sure will listen to walmart. Literally did nothing at all but lose them business and keep second amendment supporters away. Just make walmart a gun free zone all together i say. That way nobody, even people with criminal intent can go there with a gun.
billl o’connel : A small step in the right direction. Let’s hope they keep moving ✌️
A J : Trump Troll, right? . . . Smh
A J : Dead customers, “lose them business,” too, son . . . Jeez . . .
Walmart doesn’t have a choice really, loose some of their customer base and staff enough to cause problems for them, I support the second amendment I just don’t support assault weapons.
@Mag You probably live in a stupid city, you are city stupid, you realize that right?
@Mag you didn’t answer me, DO YOU WANT A HAIR CUT? It won’t hurt after you pass out.
Employees are legally entitled to a safe work environment & liability lawsuits are probably starting to sting or taking a bite out of Wally World’s insurance coverage.
I wish this young man Thomas Marshall a bright future. He is well spoken and a great representative. Thank you to him and his fellow employees. And Thank you to Walmart for stepping up and showing the country how its done!
How what is done exactly?
How did that crazy shooter get his assault rifle, especially he has a criminal record in the past?
From a private gun owner. All criminals get their arms from gun owners. No exceptions.
vv
@Mag Then gun owners should be held accountable too.
Ban all guns
James Lade Lol good luck with that, traitor.
Are illegal laws legal?
This Guy Should Run For Office!!
This is fantastic news for mom and pop gun shops across the US! WalMart was killing their ammunition sales. Not anymore!
PEOPLE POWER!
Well done, Mr Marshall, for speaking out. The sad thing is the fact that it took a middle management(?) employee to get this whole initiative started.
Kudos to this man.
Good job Mr. Marshall!! Keep fighting the good fight!
So proud of this young man
Bull crap. First Wal-Mart does not listen to it’s employees, They will fire you before they listen to you. second they have been cutting back on those sales anyway (a lot of people not happy about it ) the ammo in those shootings were not bought at Wal-Mart they don’t sell that type of round or at least most stores don’t. Like the weapons’ the ammo was owned for some time, not a recent perches. All this does is make more people turn to in home reloading and prevent honest people from buying. A criminal is a criminal laws don’t matter to them and if they can’t get it in a store then they will probably break into someone’s home to get what they want (hope your not there when they do).
It’s a little crazy that corporations now have MORE moral fiber than govt. From banning hate speech and the associated antisocial groups that practice it, to ACTING on gun control. Why is in part because they have figured out that the individuals involved are A) a minority 10% or less of Americans and B) they can live without them. Politicians lack this resolve.
