@Rueben Aragon When you register a business, the parent entity is the government. Otherwise there will be no registration needed if the business was truly private. Furthermore, Walmart is subsidized by the government with food stamps.

@Freedom B A concealed carry permit holder has to take a test to demonstrate firearms proficiency AND has to know their state laws regarding use of force and self defense whereas an open carry is just some bubba who has watched too much NRA tv and thinks he/she’s competent because they read some crap on a forum.

Walmart isn’t worried about losing lots of business because in many rural places, it’s the only place to shop and for many people, it is the only place they can afford to shop.

Oh, I’m guessing Walmart didn’t make a ton in gun or ammo sales. Cheaper online, some gun stores etc etc. Not to mention the lack of service in the sporting Department constantly from what I’ve read. And experienced. Good for you Walmart. Thanks for promoting the local gun shops and online buying period.. Places where ARS, let alone other types of firearms and ammo are promoted and sold. And all the anti-gunners on here clapping their hands.. Probably don’t get that fact I’ll praise in the win
Let’s be honest, they had no choice. This is the power of the people. Forget waiting for the government, just don’t shop there and they will soon shape up. Just like Nike, they have run the numbers and there are not enough gun toting hillbillies around to dent their profits. Furthermore, they will probably make some current customers more loyal as well as gain the odd few. This is a business move, not one of consciousness.
I think you’re vastly underestimating the ‘gun toting hillbillies’. There are more guns in this country than humans. Also, you can always move to mexico where guns are banned. That way you don’t have to worry about gun violence.

We’re all better off without guns. Walmart made the right decision to discontinue sales on guns and ammunition.
If EVERYONE gave up there guns including criminals…yes we’d all be better off. Also if everyone was just nice to each other. That’s not going to happen. There will always be wolves. They may come in the form of a criminal or an oppressive government but we will always need weapons for protection and the protection of those we love. The answer is more protection, more people Carrying guns, trained and armed and ready to protect innocent life. Get armed, get trained and carry often.
A lot of the gun community buys ammo online in cases of 1,000 cause it’s cheaper to buy in bulk. Most people buy firearms online cause they are cheaper than most mom and pop gun shop or some chain store. This does nothing…
Why wasn’t this done in the late 1990’s when Walmart employee Tyrone Montgomery killed Gail Islib, a Walmart employee that he stalked & sexually harassed? Guess where Montgomery bought the gun? The same Walmart store where Islib worked!
