@over easy 11 days before the airlifts began the Afghan army ditched their posts and equipment across allied and contractor services and details, I know. But if its the airport you are referring to. No. You cannot fly without nav or controls. All that was yanked or torched, but if they had it fully functional, it wouldn’t make a difference anyways as I detailed earlier our carriers are that side of the world with truly functional missile sea to land ballistics, and F-35 stealth jets ready to blow them out of the sky the second they pull an unsanctioned attack during their short short tenure.
I really don’t know why people are bent out of shape about the end of our involvement. We will still sell brand new equipment to sympathetic allies that side and they will still kill each other with it. People are so concerned over Biden/Trump pullout not looking at the military side, the only side that matters.
They have no navy. No Air force. They have no experience governing or leading. But their neighbor Russia does and tanks’n’gunships are pointed at them unprepared. Big picture.

Everyone saying they will give up on the equipment, your dreaming. I tell has already reported they have sent classified systems to Pakistan’s and Iran. You can bet China has access to our Blackhawks.
They also have plenty of trained Taliban supporters from these countries as well as plenty from European nations that have defected to go fight for the Taliban that served in European militaries and have had all the training they need. Just like we saw with ISIS. They didn’t drop their m4 rifle after two weeks because they couldn’t keep them operational. They carried and used them for months, until President Trump cleaned up the caliphate, allowed our military to do its job free if Obama’s fatal ROEs. So no, this equipment isn’t going to be cast aside in a few weeks, or even months.
As for the comment about a Blackhawk being easier to fly than drive a car, is that why the average pilot spends countless hours of training, has to be an officer and most have at minimum a 4 year college degree? Come on, be realistic.

However, Trump also increased forces in the middle east to clamp down on Iran. It’s actions like that which have driven the middle east countries to hate us and, very rarely, actually try to take some action against us. Arguably the entire middle east mess can be traced to our growing involvement since the 1950’s. So, if you voted Dem or Repub prior to Trump, you’re a part of the problem.

I served with the 35th Wild Weasels. We were the 2nd into Iraq during the Desert Storm air campaign. Unlike our “normal” training for formidable enemies, we were specifically instructed not to attack any oil resources, which is directly opposite of our training. Had Iraq been a true global threat, leaving their oil resources would’ve been a mistake. Since we knew they weren’t, we didn’t worry about it. We “freed” oil wells during that war.

You are confused. It’s two different things: one thing is the equipment given to the Afghan army. Another thing is the equipment not brought back by the troops after the mission to secure Kabul airport ended. It was the latter is the one that was disabled.

It took days, after Biden had the balls to follow through on Trump’s crappy ‘deal’. So they left some equipment, but destroyed most of it. So they got some humvees, trucks and uniforms.
