Cappuccino Bean For the reason why China don’t have more cases, I think it is because people there are literally in lock down mode, where you really can’t go out if you don’t have a pass, not like a lose “shelter at home” model used by US and other countries. I’m in MA and from what I saw, people still can go out easily, they can travel to other states, young people are gathering, and that is a big issue.

Cappuccino Bean Well, I can’t say the number is 100% accurate because some early cases and deaths were not included due to limited test ability and the diagnosis criteria changes very early( mid-late Jan), but after they have the ability to carry out massive tests, I do believe the number is very close (95%) to the actual number. Of course I’m Chinese so you can choose to not believe me.

When this Covid-19 was raging in China and they were going into full lock down. Morons at WaPo, the Atlantic, NYtimes were whining about the lockdown…Violation of privacy….Oh noes it couldn’t happen here…The NY Mayor and probably other government officials were urging people to go out and about their business back in Feb while the press was bleating about freedom and privacy concerns…you can check the headlines and tweets (if they haven’t deleted them already)
Taiwan hates and distrusts the Chinese CCP probably more than we do. They knew what was coming. Taiwan a free society and a light for democracy in Asia locked them selves down tight and took quick and broad measures to prevent spread.
Among other things, Taiwan has used temperature monitoring in buildings and tracking of people who were suspected of being infected through a central database.
Americans and Europe didn’t take this seriously…now we pay the price.
