Nope, in fact they didn’t like Boehner very much & wanted to fire him because he opposed some of their more out-there policy goals. The Tea Party was actually started by big oil & big tobacco in a huge campaign that started way before it became widely known in the mainstream or outside their tight political arenas. A search for Boehner and tea party will show you tons of articles.
He also made a large investment in cannabis. Something he’s been against all his life.
