Didn’t he declare a national emergency in January when he closed the borders to China over the Coronavirus?! And he was called a xenophobe, racist, etc?

Nicholas Ervin And today, he declared a national emergency. Do you even know what a national emergency is and what it means in the US? All the people here crying about MSNBC being fake news while spreading blatant fake news is hilarious. All because of ignorance.
Not only did he not declare a National Emergency back then but he’s withheld tons of help and refused to enact it until today… even though his own advisers, the entire federal medical system, and the global health and national communities have been telling him to for weeks.
However back in January nobody at all was saying any of this and we didn’t have any information about how dangerous and infectious it was. Outbreaks happen all the time and nobody closes stuff down, usually because it’s mild, temporary, easily cured, and blocking travel heavily damages many lives and the economy. Back then it was clearly a politically motivated move.

Yeah, the market is taking note of Baghdad Bobby burying his head in the sand in hopes of it going away. Meanwhile, he continued to have rallies while all of professional sports is shuttering the doors. Really smart.
Considering the lack of care or interest, and how people are refusing to take this seriously and prepare… yes. Sometimes it’s better to scare people if the alternative is letting them walk off a cliff and die.
The virus can stay hidden or remain on surfaces for upwards of a week. People need to realize they are quite possibly already infected and spreading it. People need to cancel big events or thousands could be infected overnight.
We don’t have the resources to treat even hundreds of thousands and MILLIONS are going to get it… we need to slow down the spread as much as possible.

President Barack Obama didn’t declare Swine Flu a national emergency until October 24, 2009, 8 months after it began and 22 million Americans had been infected with H1N1 and 4,000 Americans had died.
That’s because you don’t listen to leftists apparently. Though not many people wound up dying over that in comparison to the amount of people the Corona Virus has ALREADY killed. Entire nations have shut down literally their entire economy and industries except super markets and pharmacies, and they are only days ahead of us in severity. Just food and medicine. Process that. Trump has STILL not declared a national emergency, just made a statement calling it a health emergency and did nothing about it. Obama however did implement a policy and series of protocols to deal with pandemics but Trump removed all that… I wonder why.
