@glenwo2 First of all, a person who does that is a liar, and it calls into question his integrity. I personally don’t care if he’s worth x-million, y-million, or z-million. (I prefer someone who is decent and honest, even if they only have $38.20 in their bank account.)
Regarding his taxes, the important thing they would reveal (and potentially what he is hiding) is exactly who he owes money to (and therefore has leverage over him), and how much, as well as if his assets etc. have been reported correctly (i.e. tax dodging). That’s why getting his taxes is important.

One was that when Dad began making things up, it was often in elevating his accomplishments as he saw them . So, even though I knew he had been married only once ( to Mom ), Dad claimed to have been married multiple times …… and that number ALWAYS went up ! First, twice – then 3, then 5, then 7 ! Reagan was most likely sick with Alzheimer’s while being president during his second term but there was never any sign that things were going to go off the rails.
First you have to remember that he did not win by the popular vote. He won because of an archaic way presidents get elected which is in our constitution. There were valid reasons why that system prevailed when it was created but it would take an amendment to the constitution to fix this and that isn’t easy.
