Why do we pay for his kids phones?
This one is easy, we don’t want the phones of the prime minister’s children compromised. It is possible that the kids might forget their phone laying around then for daddy here to have a confidential conversation within earshot of that phone. The prime minister’s kids phones really are a national security issue, it’s very normal for teenagers to have cellphones as well so them not having a smartphone is not really an option.

The reason Trudeau’s teenage children have cellphones paid for, is that those phones need to be as secure as his own, or any other official’s kids would need. Just imagine if the phones were purchased at the local cellphone store or apple genius outlet, and they secured them themselves or had a trusted adult do so.
They could never attain the security that is necessary as easily or readily as a direct government secured phone would be. If not properly secured, the phone could easily be put in “listen” mode re the microphone and recorded conversations sent to another person or entity without any notice to the phone’s owner. Great way to listen in on conversations when you’d like to maybe grab some intell re dinner table discussions or by the kid accidentally leaving the phone some place where the PM is discussing something important and an adversary of Canada was listening.
It’s just a no-brainer issue for me.
Yea I cant stand Trudeau as much as the next Canadian at this point, but youre absolutely right that his kids phones being paid for is necessary since they need to be as secure as his own.
