How did Jamaica get to this place with the amount of guns in the country? What has the government been doing over the past 30 or 40 years to curb the crime monster.?
Jamaica need to sack all those ppl working on the wharves.
Fire them and get some older Jamaican to do the job.. 40yrs and over replace these heartless young Jamaicans.
Even If they get $1,000,000 per months they still wouldn’t satisfy and always looking for more. Sack them they are the problem collecting money to turn a blind eye. Check their bank account and if the can’t account for their latest deposit /money take it from them.
Generally speaking Jamaican young gun are ruthless, killing their own ppl and making the undertakers rich.
No education and job can reform them or curb the situation they can’t live according to their means.

You sound young based on your question. It’s a mix of corrupt politicians, who created garrisons to balance votes by parish from the 70s. They then equipped garrisons with weapons to wage violence and intimidate those who didn’t wear their colors. Tax dollars went into politicians and their cronies instead of development and job creation. So today, the only jobs available are for call centers, security guards or taxi men. Nobody wants to invest here because the country is just not stable or safe. Think about it… JA was ahead of Singapore in the 60s – look at us now.

I hope this initiative and collaboration with the US will prove successful and bring the lowlife criminals whose intention is to mash up our beautiful island, to justice and be put behind bars, and never live to tarnish the country anymore. When we really learn that skilled labor is more important than many a Bachelor’s degree in a useless subject? The world, including the USA, must concentrate on developing good trade schools, the graduates of which will command high wages. Or, we can continue to import Chinese workers, as is done in Italy, Iran and many countries. Canada should be commended for their education in trades.

As a Jamaican in my own country, I have found the analysis of the Canadian government about the crime and violence in our country to be analytical precise and true.
Fortunately I’m from Canada chilling out in Stony Hill for the next six months . I’m fortunate that I experience no fear . Let’s hope that continues.
