  1. How DARE you try to pass laws so that children don’t get shredded by high-velocity bullets?! TRAITOR! TRAITOR!

    1. Where is the bill that does that? All I see is some bills that can be abused by some spiteful women. Though the good news is no one knows what a woman or a boyfriend is anymore.

  2. “Boooo…we want death, mayhem, and children in city morgues!” Republican common sense at its best.

    1. @Virginia Moss what the hell is a “semi assault rifle”? You people always just reveal your ignorance when trying to have an opinion on firearms…

    2. @J Hartman Tax cuts, and investigation that doesn’t go anywhere, after investigation that doesn’t go anywhere.
The only positive is gridlock and a Lame Duck President. So bring it. (I apologize for calling him the President. He’s the resident in the White House. My bad.)

    3. @M.D.
My house has never been broken into, and I don’t live in abject terror of some fictitious enemy. I’m sorry you can’t find peace without a killing machine to terrorize some imaginary boogeyman.

  3. I agree with him on the boyfriend loophole. But I feel the same about hate crimes. I think anyone who has assaulted someone shouldn’t have guns regardless of what type of assault.

    1. @Logical Psycho first of all I am smart enough not to put myself in that position. Secondly if I had a gun locked up safely like it should be, it would be of no help. Your example is ridiculous. Do you check under your bed for the boogeyman?

    2. @Lindsey B Hui So you’re pretending that there aren’t just as many toxic women that wouldn’t take advantage? C’mon.

    3. Kris, a felony does bar you from purchasing or owning a gun, which is unconstitutional. Any American citizen who is not in prison should have the right to own a gun.

    4. @Collin Weeks It depends on the state but I agree that if you’ve served your time you should have your rights back. Its also another good reason to leave these laws in the hands of the states. The Fed doesn’t need any more power.

    1. @Kade Smash, the number of children drowning in pools have escalated dramatically. Should we ban pools? What about children riding in cars? If we ban that, we would be saving the lives of children.

    1. is par of the course for American politics. Open minded intelligent discourse is about as rare as genuine bipartisanship.

    1. @J Hartman How would it hurt? BTW, 7 of the states with the highest crime rates have GOP Govs.

  4. Thank you Chief Dwight Henninger. We Americans hope desperately that something impactful will be done to make America safer for kids and folks alike

    1. Our right to live, to be free from gun violence, is, as an actual right, superior to the non-right to posses a gun for any use outside law enforcement/military.

    2. @Progressive Humanist guns don’t cause violence though. It’s people with mental issues that use them in the wrong manner.

  5. Find replacements for these clowns 🤡 never helping anyone unless it’s in their best interest.

    1. No kidding, apparently they’re working around the clock to work on this issue but it’s unclear if they’re gonna be able to pass it. What a joke. Total parasites.

  6. When I was a Kid , leaders were just that ,, leaders ,, with integrity , respect, trustworthy , scandals were rare , they knew that they had multitudes looking up to them for the kind of behavior that they should emulate , but over the years that has deteriorated to a point where everyone behaves however and whatever they like , immature , disrespect, misbehavior, a total lack of anything you would uphold as righteous behavior

    1. @Mike Thompson yes George Carlin said it best , ” everyone likes to say politicians suck , but maybe something else sucks around here , like , the people , maybe it’s the people that suck”

    2. I agree with you, but you’re living in the past Boomer. The world sucks now and it happened on our watch.

  7. Listen to Chief Henninger. He’s knows. It’s Police that have to deal with the aftermath.

  8. There should be a back ground checks and a psychiatric examination for police officers application too.

  9. These foolish people care more about their guns than the lives of innocent children. That alone is evidence that they lack the emotional intelligence to own a firearms. They are a bunch of irresponsible, greedy bullies.

  10. I feel too many people worry about an issue being liberal or republican. Less about the issues and more about hate for the other side. Too much hate in America.

  11. “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means ‘my ignorance is equal to your knowledge’ ” -Isaac Asimov

    1. @Victor Blüd cool story but all you’re peddling is more woke mental gymnastics. That’s some super special nonsense I haven’t heard yet. Happy pride month weirdo.

    2. @Anti elfimation League So tell me why your feelings should affect how others are able to express themselves and live their lives when those things have absolutely 0 effect on you or that book of fairy tales you call a “bible”.

    3. @Victor Blüd you should be able to freely express yourself but your ideas should be held over the fire just like everyone else’s. I agree with you on the bible being a fairy tale however.

    4. @Bob S Sex is irrelevant. It depends on how the person identifies themselves. The brain determines who the person is not the body. If the brain says it is female then the person has every right to take actions that will allow the body to conform to how the brain identifies. Mind controls the body. Not the other way around.

  12. Instead of defining what a boyfriend is, perhaps just not allow people with a record of abuse to buy guns?

    1. @Wagz22 easy enough I’ll make it even more easier for you …just like woman and racist can mean anything because people keep undermining language with their stupid pronouns that means the word abuse can be changed to suit anyone’s definition….im not an abuser..
      Whats abuse?

    2. Like Johnny Depp? Because you know Amber Heard lied on him, but it still stuck to his record. Women do that a lot

    3. @TheMorningSon Huh, interesting how you still don’t get it. We’re not debating what words mean here, simply if you abuse and assault someone, you have proven that you’re not mentally stable enough to conduct yourself with a gun. Simple. So I can still have a gun and you can still get one…I mean as long as you haven’t been convicted of abusing anyone.

  13. And I agree that they need to be specific on how to allocate the money for the states for the red flag laws. Because as of the way they have it right now it’s basically “here’s all this money we HOPE you will do what we asked you to but you don’t really have to”
