Remember when Bush got into trouble for saying “Bring ’em on” in reference to terrorists? Hey, he was just exercising free speech, right?
The last thing Democrats, especially Joe Biden, wanted to be doing in the first weeks of the new administration was to be impeaching the guy they finally got rid of. It wasn’t good for Dems politically. Ethics and accountability dictated that they had to impeach him. If Republicans had any ethics or desire for accountability, they wouldn’t be making that stupid argument that Dems love to hate him so much that they can’t let him go.
Your example is criminal. An impeachment trial is political.

Democracy is personal and why it was so difficult these past 4yrs has been painful to watch all the while the Republicans sat on their hands and be SILENT. No they want to dust everything under the rug. ACOUNTABILITY is first step!
Alot of republicans don’t understand that you don’t take power you earn it…there is plenty of evidence around the world that when power is taken the result usually don’t have a positive outcome…
I’ve been impressed with Raskin for awhile, but all the dems were extremely compelling.
Of course, any average ability 5 year old knows what 45* did was wrong, extremely dangerous and impeachable; hence why his lawyers were just a complete sophistic farce.
I wanted him to be one of the managers in the first impeachment.
