    Then the one who invited you both will come and say to you, “Give way to this place,” and then you would have to shame to take the last place.
    But when you are invited, go and sit in the last seat. And when the one who invited you comes, he will say to you: “Friend, go higher.” And you will be honored by all your fellow diners.
    For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted ”.
    And to the one who invited him, he said: “When you are giving dinner or a supper, do not invite your friends, brothers, relatives, or wealthy neighbors, lest they invite you one another, and you will be repaid.

    Commentary on the Gospel of St. Luke, 2, 14 & nbsp; & nbsp;
    “Here I have prepared my feast… and everything is ready. Come to the feast! ” (Mt 22.4)
    You were invited to a wedding. Looking at his fellow diners, he noticed that everyone was in the first place […], everyone wanted to be ahead of the others and to be above the rest. They are told by a parable (Lk 14:16), which, even in the literal sense, is very useful and necessary for all those who like to be respected by other people and who fear humiliation […].

    But because it is a parable, it carries a message that goes beyond the literal sense. Let’s see what these weddings are and who the wedding guests. These words are fulfilled every day in the Church. Every day the Lord celebrates the wedding, because he unites himself with the souls of the faithful in baptism and in their transition to the kingdom of heaven. And we, who have received the faith and the seal of baptism in Jesus Christ, are invited to this wedding. The table is set, as we read in Scripture: “You set a table for me in the face of my adversaries” (Ps 23: 5). There is a sacrificial bread, a fat calf, a Lamb that takes away the sins of the world (Ex 25:30; Lk 15:23; John 1:29). There we receive the bread of life coming down from heaven and the cup of the new covenant (Jn 6:51; 1 Cor 11:25). We get the gospels and the Acts of the Apostles, the books of Moses and the Prophets, which are the tastiest dishes of this feast.

    What more can we ask for? Why do we want to take the first places? Regardless of where we occupy, we will get all the fullness and we will not miss anything.+++++++

  6. Time to take out phrases like ‘within the next few days, imminent, and looming’ from the political spectrum of the Iran deal. The final stretch to get that deal was 6 months ago, I doubt if it would ever materialize!
