@Arithia East Germany was socialist, they unified with West-Germany and now have a republican form of government. Poland was socialist under the soviet’s bloc, they now have a republican government. When the entire USSR shattered like glass, Russia and Ukraine, both have republican forms of governments. Sure Putin is essentially dictator of Russia, but Russia is still a democracy. There’s still elections in Russia, despite the corrupt system.
Fun Fact: The Australian Labour Party, is a Democratic Socialist Party, within Australia, and they controlled majority of seats in Australia for a VERY long time, today they hold a lot of seats still. Oh, and Australia is another democracy.
