‘This is another act of harm’ | Indigenous Studies professor reacts to deal between feds and church

Percy Lezard, an assistant professor with the Indigenous Studies program at Wilfred Laurier University says the deal feels like another colonial harm to Indigenous Peoples and a continuation of 'broken promises'.

  4. Time to heal…Many authorities, Governments and Institutions have asked for forgiveness, and have paid compensation for wrongs. It’s my opinion time to move forward with a new positive outlook…All are safe in our Democracy and things like this would never happen moving forward in the 21 century, within Canada. Time to trust each other…

  5. Canadian taxpayer have looked after “all” compensation to the tune of more than $40 Billion dollars.
    No other compensation is neccessary other than maybe cutting a cheque to the Catholic Church for the desecrated and burned Churches, a non Colonial harm that didn’t happen long ago in history.
