First Amendment and Constitutional lawyer Floyd Abrams says this largest ever known settlement between Fox News and Dominion should be a warning to those who engage in "the worst of journalism." #CNN #News

Smartmatic will finish the job.
the only lesson FN learn is how they maneuver next time, for from now on. They’ll still lie, but not going to toward a certain company 🙂
My appreciation , i read this daily !
‘Probably’ isn’t good enough. Few cases have this much obvious evidence coming from the mouths of the criminals themselves.

It wasn’t gonna be televised like the Alex Jones debacle, unless…Judge Davis ruled that it could be televised.
Smartmatic case is just as strong 💯💯💯👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
FALSE

Dominion’s play was purely financial (investor interests, incentive compensation plans for execs, etc), not the public interest in social sanction against Fox for all the damage done to our country.
Dominion has a fiduciary duty to its shareholders. It is not an NGO seeking retribution for damage to the public.
For Dominion, the best thing about this settlement is that Fox cant appeal this $780m judgement- Fox (& it’s army of lawyers) could have kept this case going, on appeal for YEARS & YEARS, never paying Dominion a dime had the voting company actually won the case.

Dominion settled, Period!

Justice was not served. An issue was simply resolved. The judicial system is not to dispense justice, it’s simply to “solve problems”.
Nice
It sounds like you have a very similar experience with this issue and the law????

Making Fox say Uncle isn’t justice?
Dominion just gave Smartmatic a huge PR/marketing boost. All they have to do is force Fox to apologize and publicly admit they lied, then hype the fact that they did and Dominion didn’t.
Ho has what on who and what’s most embarrassing
Let’s hope so. But I think they’ll go for the money just like Dominion did.

Dominion built the foundation, Smartmatic & others the house.
Given that Tucker continues to lie on air, re Russia for example, I don’t think they’ve learned anything except not to text what they really think. They’ll be walking up and down sidewalks in the Bronx talking quietly to each other like mobsters 😂
I have a an issue with People using fake names and claiming the moral High ground. This pegs my BS Meter!

Baby steps.
@gpan62 What lies does he tell about Russia? Be specific.
Dominion settled, Period! very useful information

The agreed settlement let Fox off the hook. Clearly Dominion had a strong case. Strike that. Clearly Dominion had an overwhelmingly strong case. very useful information

The key take away from another news report , remembering that it’s all about the money , is that by settling Dominican will get paid vs if they won the settlement fox could go back and ask that it be reheard … let’s just hope that more will sue Fox and at some point the judge will require Fox to apologize to the public while the plaintiff still gets its money .

My fury about how settling kept the sum total of Dominion’s evidence from becoming a permanent court record was mitigated when I heard a Dominion representative add to their claim that “the world can see that Fox lost” (which doesn’t ring true for me given the “weasel words” in Fox’s post-settlement statement + how many of their viewers’ confirmation keeps them willfully ignorant”) because he added the valid points that:
A) If even one case isn’t settled, the evidence can still be fully documented, plus
B) Many of the witnesses are the same for all related lawsuits & many of these folks are being threatened & variously traumatized. Thus trying to limit a full trial to one big effort (& maybe settling the others) may limit the collateral damage to innocent parties willing to testify honestly.
Food for thought.
I do feel strongly that it’s crucial for Fox to be court-ordered to publish retractions following at least one of their liable lawsuits.
In fact, if Fox published retractions prior to subsequent suits, might that actually weaken other victims’ cases?
Not really. It was probably more of an issue, because of the fact that a lot of Dominion’s business is overseas and even in Canada. Also Alex Jones got hit several years after he already said he got it wrong multiple times.

I liked this interviewee, Mr Abrams.
He had been through some sh*t.
I wonder if Abrams would have defended Fox in court.
I never watched Fox but some of my family did and believe all their lies, I never believe their lies because I watched believable news always.
Could shareholders sue for diminished reputation of Fox? If they could that would greatly increase the amount of a lawsuit.
