  1. The collapsing of the economy is having real world effects on Latinos in my area. It’s going to end up putting an independent small restaurant owner out of business which is tragic because I have been going there from the day they opened to expanding to another location.

    1. @RealmCenter40 The same applies to you, I talked about one thing, and you write to me about a completely different thing, so I say how difficult it is to talk to fools who have all their thoughts about their stomachs and not about the global problems of humanity, which is much more important than a Mexican restaurant. Which does not pay taxes because illegal immigrants work there.

  2. I’m very PROUD of Mayra Flores! I’m originally from Brownsville TX and we need more of this and less of the same old Democrats that keep building “housing” apartments for their electorate. Peones! We need to get out of the bucket mentality!
    Go Mayra!

    1. From an article in the October 2021 issue of Texas Monthly titled *Why Democrats Are Losing Texas Latinos:*
[Laredo English teacher Melissa]Castro said Democrats prioritized the wrong sort of pitch, which motivated her to vote for Trump in 2020 though she hadn’t in 2016. They tried to appeal to her as someone who cared only about her Mexican heritage or the plight of undocumented immigrants and asylum-seekers, she believed, instead of as a voter interested in issues such as border security and the economy. “It felt like they were pandering,” she said. Other swing voters I interviewed over a period of months stressed similar opinions: their choices were motivated by policing and energy policies, not by pluralistic and humanitarian appeals. Peña-Garza, the Hidalgo County Republican chair, said Hispanic South Texans, who have long been conservative, “have become liberated” to vote on their long-held beliefs. “People have been bullied into voting Democrat. If you got involved [in conservative politics], people said, ‘I’m not going to give you this contract; I’m not going to give you this job.’ But I think the bullying has backfired. People are more empowered and courageous.”

    1. When democrats struggle to simply answer what a woman is means their craziness have gone gone too far

  3. The hatred on display in these comments for a Hispanic person that doesn’t tow the democrat party line is awfully telling as to why so many are rejecting the democrats.

    1. @asmr p2p can you cite that statistic because I know for a fact Trump at the most Hispanic and black in the polls

    2. Welp, I’m here because I think she is a rock star. She has more integrity, accountability, and balls than any echo chamber democrat has.

  4. I was born and raised in Mexico, and can tell you that I will never understand why people of Mexican decent vote democrat….it just doesn’t make any sense to me. We are very traditional, hard working, family oriented, believe in God, etc. We should always vote Republican. The democrats want to keep our communities controlled and poor. Congratulations to Mayra. Hispanics for Trump/DeSantis.

    1. @blueivy then why do you vote for a party that’s clearly anti Christian, and supports values completely removed from the faith.

  5. But you are there to represent a political party, you stated that in the beginning. You say you’re a Republican so say that with all your chest when talking to people

  6. A squad we can get behind!

Unprecedented Republican Latina stronghold in South Texas: Flores, Garcia, De La Cruz.

  7. Good for them, don’t be like us (blacks) and tie yourself to one party. I personally see more black men moving away from democrats, but black women ain’t flinching. I love how she said we don’t want what we’re afraid of to come here.

As blacks we know our problems but let folks tell us to just be scared of whites and rely on government as a savior.

    1. @hotboy757 Uhm…claiming an entire race of people ‘don’t speak in that matter’ is quite prejudiced in itself…is it not?

  8. “We don’t want what we’re afraid of to come here” That’s EXACTLY what my neighbor said. She’s hispanic, only been here a few years and has tried very hard to learn english. She’s very conservative and it honestly shocked me. I assumed she’d be liberal because she’s an immigrant. At this rate – it won’t be long until democrats are supporting a wall! hahaha

  9. I still just can’t trust anything from CNN, but it’s nice to see something somewhat positive for a change.
