But but movie critics gave it a 55 score?!? 😂
I loved it.
why does that matter? lol
the movie is making tons of money and that’s a success 👍
Critics? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The movie is average but I appreciated it.
Now THIS is more of what we’ve come to expect from the hard hitting, unbiased reporting from CNN.
It succeeded because it had no John Leguizamo. 👏
😂😂😂❤
Now we need mega man, metroid, Star fox and zelda.
And don’t forget pac man.
@alex contreras /negative ned and almost forgot kirby!
Don’t forget excite bike and paperboy and ninja gaiden haha
Dungeon Siege has a movie.
It’s not Super Hero fatigue. Marvel has been making horrible movies lately. Matt Reeves’ Batman will still be exciting. But yes, Mario is King and I’m a Nintendo fan first and foremost

Or, BS
@Ver Coda I’m notorious. Boo
@Randy Watson You confuse “notorious” for obnoxious
Incredible news, Thanks CNN
It’s Mario. Literally an Icon. Household name. Wait until the figure out DBZ on a Hollywood budget would do🔥🔥🔥🔥
i had the same thought XD video games and anime both have great movies and have succeeded for a long time, with very little thought or budget. imagine if you dropped a couple mill on one of those. its common sense you’d have to be a very bad director to mess it up. there shocked about mario and they just dont understand the market or how kids and adults would love to see more of this.
It succeeded because they didn’t make a movie that force-fed a message down our throats. They just made a fun and entertaining movie, plain and simple.
What message was allegedly being pushed with the movies for Hitman, Silent Hill, or Doom?
@FishSkeleton😂😂 exactly. Most video game movies are just that…adaptions or attempts at adapting the game
@Oracle Of Delphi? John wick 4, air, dnd
Sounds like Someone resents being told not to be racist, homophobic, etc etc. I see you.
I loved the 93’ Mario Bros movie.
Wanna know why it’s successful?
Well 2 Words: NO POLITICS
Unlike Marvel’s+Disney’s, Nintendo still has real Magic about Escapism with no Political Messages because for Parents, Politics were way worse than let kids play Video Games
It is political. Peach was a weak needing saving.
you wanna know why they didn’t do any bs live action
Awesome, fun movie for all ages, very well done
I loved the 93’ Mario Bros movie. ❤ GOD Bless Everyone
I hope they put this level of work into a Zelda Movie … Omg 😮
I miss Mario Kart so bad!
They made a good video game film, but aside from that it’s just a good popcorn movie for family and kids. It’s probably better analyzed as just a good animated film by Illumination. A lot of the video game films do not fit that description at all.
Mario came out in the mid 80’s. Those 80’s kids now have kids of their own who are playing Mario. The demographic that would be interested in seeing this movie spans 2 generations, maybe 3. So success was pretty much guaranteed here.
This movie should be nominated for the Oscar’s next year.
