Supermajority co-founder Cecile Richards and her daughter Lily Adams, a veteran of Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris’ presidential campaigns, have had a front-row look at women in politics for a generation, starting with the political career of their mother and grandmother, former Texas Governor Ann Richards. Lily Adams tells Lawrence that Warren’s exit from the race is a "gut punch" but says that it has also inspired young women to "elect a woman to the White House sooner rather than later."

The State Of Women In Politics In 2020 | The Last Word | MSNBC
UNIVERSAL RIGHTS – LIBERTY and JUSTICE – & – EQUAL ACCESS to GOOD THINGS.
*_without UNIVERSAL RIGHTS there are always snakes speaking hate to discriminate_*
BERNIE 2020
Hey your man Bernie said he doesn’t support your hate so cool it.
What is it with America and the value or lack thereof they place on women leaders? Even Muslim countries have elected female heads of state, Presidents, and Prime ministers some as long ago as the 80’s
I’d suggest you ask one of Phyllis Schlafly’s disciples.
@cybogoblin Rather not they’re not known for their intellectual curiosity, intelligence and have an aversion to evidence and are far too sad in their ideological insular world views. But what about the other 80% of American men and women.
When they put a qualified candidate that can come up with something America needs and wants we would vote her in. I bet if you put Michelle Obama in the ring she would win hands down.
@Roxann Watson HRC won the popular vote by almost 3 million after becoming the first American woman to stand for President and that was only in 2016. Yet there is no problem with electing a corrupt, inept and incompetent male like Atgolf and just plain incompetent in Bush. 🤔
Quick…
500,000,000 / 327,000,000
Are you smarter than Brian Williams? 😏 Such a joke of a network.
The struggle…
Run twice as fast to get half as far. As a black man, I can totally relate to that statement. These ladies must be scratching their heads about something that I have wondered about for a long time…
In minority culture, why can’t we get our own to support our own? If we could just get our own to support our own, then we could repeat 2008 every four years. Every single election, there could be a highly qualified minority in the oval office, certainly a woman by now.
The only thing Lawrence O’Donnell and Rachel Maddow have on their minds ever since Warren was defeated (yes, that’s what happened) is this notion that women have it harder or that there’s some sort of sexism going on. Ok, we got it. Boo hooo…..Now for the love of God, stop the pity party and let’s put this reverse sexism aside and move on. It’s not about gender. It’s about defeating Trump! Get it? Did yoi not learn anything from 2016. Identity politics is self defeating!!!!!! However, if you should go on insisting, perhaps you can start by proposing a better candidate, rather than these shrivelled up old prunes…
When Warren was asked if anti-feminism had to do with her not being able to get a leg on the ground, she answered “If I say ‘yes!’ I will be called a ‘whiner’, but if I say ‘no!’ billions of women will ask ‘on what planet do you live, sister?'”
And of course, she was right with that response.
However – what (male) anti-feminists and women like to ignore when it comes to (anti-)feminism: half of the electorate is female. But the number of supporters for female candidates don’t represent that reality.
Even if we acknowledge that Warren wasn’t the only female running, and that therefore the female votes were split among all female candidates…the total of votes never reached the total of available female votes.
Which means (male) anti-feminists need to stop complaining about “women only voting for women, because feminism…yaddayadda!”, and women need to stop complaining about “women aren’t elected because males aren’t voting for them, yaddayadda!”.
The truth is: many women also never vote for female candidates. For many reasons. They may think, a woman’s place is at home in the kitchen and the children’s room, or they may think, women aren’t capable of running a whole country, or they may simply not want another woman in a position, that they themselves can’t have (bitchiness is a real thing, you know)…
The simple truth is the Democratic Party is made up of people that are conservative, moderate and progressive and she didn’t get enough of those people to vote for her, especially the women vote. Now back to your Reality TV & FakeBook, drumpf has a great plan to end it all!
End it all. Yep. That’s IMPOTUS* plan
The tough looking guy on the left has a female tone of voice.
Donald Trump is an example that we elect weak male leaders. No doubt Hillary, Elizabeth, Kamala were great candidates but they did not have that thing to bring people close to them. If Michelle Obama jumped in this race before the Primaries she would have won every state hands down. Why because of the black vote along with the white working class and educated voter. It does come down to the candidate not the fact they’re women. Get the right woman to run and people will back that woman and her her win. Hillary lost because of he media turning her into the monster in her basement with an email server while the real monster was elected. Hillary was hit by Russia and Jame Comey.
Btw, what about the State of MEN?
INVERSION is the devil’s work.
maybe run a woman that doesn’t bend to corporate $hill interests. warren sold out. deal with it. plumbing does not equate to good policy or merit. ffs.
Biden: Thanks Chuck
Chuck: sorry Joe my name is Chris!!!
Biden: I’ll make sure nothing will change & the rich will get richer off the backs of the tax payer.
Four more years of Trump or Trump will be president for life.
Perez: I’m good with that, I’ll still be rich.
Lawrence O’Donnell should resign his position at MSNBC and give it to a qualified woman IF HE MEANS WHAT HE SAYS.
You tube is censoring me for telling the truth
delegates Biden 638 Sanders 563 Warren 64 assume 50% of the votes are women get your act together the level of middle class entitlement is breathtaking
Tulsi Gabbard, a military veteran and WOC is still in the race.
Welcome to the wonderful world of White Feminism.
I certainly know the state of a liberal womans mind triggered easily annoyed unable to comprehend reality as it is…
Hillary Clinton & Elizabeth Warren are two of the most disingenuous lying (I never sent classified emails/American Indian) politicians around…want a woman to win? Try running a better candidate!
Warren did not only come in third place in her home state, but came in third place among women in her home state. If she’s wondering why she’s not going to be the next President she might start by asking her own female constituents why they didn’t vote for her.
Put Michelle Obama in the ring. Bet she would win. If I would have liked where they were going, I would back them. Warren? No thank you. “I have a plan for that” was supposed to be a good thing?
