CTV News is Canada's most-watched news organization both locally and nationally, and has a network of national, international, and local news operations.
Christy Clark is the last politician who should be criticizing anyone for failure to have long term plans. She should go back to radio.
Wages should keep up with inflation, how complicated is it?
they shouldn’t and they physically can’t, how is this complicated to understand basic economy?
Raise everyones salary by +X% the inflation will be +X% next day, why it’s hard to realize?
It’s too hard to understand for them unless you are an ” Overpaid Politician picking fights and making jokes in the parliament” While the public servants are the one dealing with the Citizens day in and day out and get crumbs! As if she just dismissed the financial hardship of workers WOW.
I would suggest that a much bettsr business case could be providing germany and other European countries with natural gas. At least it would be the companyz investing their money, not paying off multi nationals with taxpayer money and not indebting future generations of Canadians.
We are truly witnessing just how useless the government is as pur lives don’t get affected at all 😂
Trucesceau, The Lieberals and PSAC whiners.
What a combination for Canada. No wonder this country is Fawked so badly.
Trucesceau just blew 4 BILLION for preserving French Language !
I am sure the homeless are happy to hear that.
Thanks, Vassy for clarifying with Cristy Clark about the Public Servants being paid while on strike. The money paid to the public servants while on strike will be clawed back. Nothing is free in this world!
You probably don’t understand English…that is a two weeks late payment for their service before the strike.
The statement that public servants continue to get paid is incorrect and false. Public servants receive payment two weeks in arrears. It’s simple. In two weeks the striking workers won’t get pay for the days this week they were on strike. This shouldn’t even be a discussion.
No union strike pay? Really? Lol
@Stewart D Strike pay they get it’s 75$ a day out of the union pocket not their regular wage except for the last pay that they are owed for the last weeks worked.
Well this was useless. Hear say… useless. Christy Clark seems very ill-informed.
Christy Clark is starkly ignorant by saying striking worker still getting pays from government , how can such a person even be elected as a Premier?
Yeah the pay they just received on Wednesday was for the period of March 30th to April 12th. That money is not being clawed back lol.
Stop being in former premiers as panelists on issues they are not even experts on
As of April 1, 2023 MPs received an annual salary that’s more than $15,000 higher than they did pre-pandemic, while the prime minister took home an extra $30,000. – This is what called “Blank Cheques”.
Christy Clark who? She doesn’t have a clue about how pay works on federal government.
Christy clark has no clue what she’s talking about
Nobody wants the public unions to have so much power, we MUST always capitulate.
It’s sickening at every level.
