  1. Yes, let’s stop calling them prisoners and start calling them what they are now:

    Hostages.

  2. Traveling to Russia right now is probably the dumbest thing an American can do. What are they thinking?!!

    1. @Nando Torres good for you, enjoy your fun and stay safe by not doing any foolish stuff as Russia has got his own rules and dont care a damn bout whatever any other country says or do.

    2. @Cr 91 well in certain countries especially in russia their international rights bestowed unto them, doesnt mean a thing in russia, unless they and their company take the risk upon themselves.

  3. Can’t understand why anyone would step foot in Russia considering the current situation between us. Smh

  4. You know you can lose your freedom by just simply thinking about the idea of going to Russia even without going there. Go there if you have nothing to live for

  5. US State Dept issued a very stern alert for all Americans to leave Russia about three weeks ago. I would listen to those alerts.

    1. He loves Russia, they say he was a descendant of former Russian emigrants) The call of the blood of the ancestors, that’s why he went to the country of his ancestors)

    1. Putin, a man who really believes in God and in everything he does in this life, in devotion to his country, only confirms this!

    2. And as for your spy, who was caught red-handed and with evidence yesterday near the city of Nizhny Tagil (not far from Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Urals), this says only one thing: someone is very interested in information about the largest Russian tank factory (now it works in 3 shifts), which is located there….

  6. Probably the article he co-authored, and was published 2 days ago in the Wall Street Journal, about the Russian economy has a lot to do with this.

    1. @Lily Margaret Probably just got too comfy and was chasing a career making scoop.

Yekaterinburg is the headquarters of Rushr’s central military district, our equivalent being NORAD Colorado Springs. Quite an odd place for him as a foreign journalist to be lurking about.

According to them, he was trying to find out info about one of their class_ified factories producing military equipment: how many shifts, number of units produced, employee personal info, relationship with Wagr group etc.

    2. @AI TechnoCore (Hyperion) Wow—“According to them…” Who is “them”? That seems seriously risky on his part. Foolish beyond measure and somehow it seems like the WSJ would have had to approve that first. Or maybe they don’t ask questions of their journalists….deniable plausibility. Hmmm. Thanks for the insight. Strange story.

    3. @Lily Margaret them = rushyns . Would have been a very big scoop if he got away with it too, not very Einstein of him to think he couldn’t get caught, especially given the kinds of articles he would write about them for years. Kind of like shinning a huge spot-light one’s self.

Anyway also consider they just have 14 of our guys in the clinker for various alleged crimes. Out of the 21,000 of ours living there (down from 35,000 in late 2021). We on the other hand have 103 of theirs on ice.

So however unsavoury they are, they don’t seem to be particularly hunting our guys just for the sake of it.

  7. Should be no surprise, US citizens were told to leave a while ago. Now we have to deal with this.. smdh

    1. And just look how only one stupid person can cause so much unnecessary attention already in an ALREADY MUCH TENSIONED SITUATION.

  8. Well, Brittney Griner was traded for the Merchant of Death, and they didn’t have to give up Paul Whelan then. Time to grab someone else to trade for so they can still keep their ace up their sleeve.

  9. The work of Journalists is essential but we Americans are very stubborn. The State Department been warning Americans to get out and stop going to certain countries but some don’t listen. Our so-called freedom of whatever sometimes get us in trouble. I hope he and others held there will be freed soon

  10. She’s Brilliant. I agreed with most of what she said, but not really with Russia no longer caring for US reaction due to other tensions surrounding Russia. China still taking neutral position means there is still a risk of it going either way and his enemies are teaming up more than ever…🤔 China vs. Taiwan issue and other issues too…🤔🧮⚖️
