@Ribb Rotgut Fascists in Europe and America have been hiding behind free speech protections for 80 years, accusing anyone who objects to their intolerance of others of being anti-free speech. *It’s a shell game, don’t fall for it.* They don’t actually care about free speech. Because if they get their way, free speech protections will be immediately revoked for everyone who criticizes them.
They just like using the wheels of democracy against itself. They’re saboteurs in a factory who want to make themselves the boss. Breaking the machine that we all built and maintain together, so that they can stand up, hammer in hand, and say “The machine of democracy is broken, fixing it is too hard, so I offer you a better way. Make me boss and I’ll punish the half of the workforce you don’t like.”
They’re dishonest actors. So you can care about our rights, without also feeling forced to be tolerant of those who preach intolerance.

@Logan McLean I disagree that the military is any different. If a citizen chooses to serve in the military, be they LGBTQ or not, they should have the equal right to do so if they are physically healthy enough to serve and do what is necessary in whatever branch they apply to serve in. They have already been effectively serving in the military forever anyway in secret but having to serve secretly is a form of discrimination that should not exist.

In Israel, where you can’t say there’s no religious/traditional communities, it is ILLEGAL to fire based on gender identity or sexual preference. ‘Murica, what’s wrong with you?
