@Candace Coran sadly we have just reached 200 deaths due to Covid-19. Our biggest Pandemic Response problem appears to be, Contrite people in denial, who refuse to accept we have a Pandemic and therefore do their utmost to undermine and sabotage our best efforts at Containment. This includes some of our Media, notably Sky and Fox Media. Each time these Contrarians are caught out it means more & harsher Restrictions. Our southern State of Victoria has a Mandatory Mask Wearing mandate. My State, New South Wales has Strongly Recommended Mask Wearing mandate. I struggle to understand the Pandemic Denial Mentality of some people. On the brighter side we have by World Standards a successful Pandemic Response Model. Thankfully, our Politicians from both sides are showing a united front. Personal Hygiene (hand washing) Social Distancing, Localised Lockdowns, Mask Wearing while out and about are now the New Normal. Our world has changed forever. We’re “Doomed” because the MORONS that voted him in will continue voting with the same norms and values that allowed him to even campaign in the first place.
Trump is Trump. He never was more than himself, a huckster. We can blame him all we want, but the fact is 60M+ people actually voted for him to run this country. He was all bluster who sold them a bill of goods and they completely bought into his shill. They listened to his words, which weren’t comprehensible at times and hollow at other times, and still voted for him. What does that say about our “educated” electorate? And through all of this, many (about 40%) still support him. That’s just crazy. (Does the name Jim Jones ring a bell?).
However, more importantly the Republicucks allowed him to run rampant over the norms, the Constitution and wreck this country. For them to allow him to blatantly lie and run amok without any resistance at all and to remain silent, they are equally, if not more so because of their experience, complicit in this firestorm. They have blood on more than just their hands as well.
During the primaries, many rightly so even called him out for his inadequacies. And then later, they not only became silent, they wholeheartedly supported him with their words, actions and votes. They should be held fully accountable for their inactions and actions, which have made this situation far, far worse. Trump can’t be solely held as the only fall guy just as Hitler wasn’t solely responsible for his misdeeds. He is just a symptom of a far more pernicious disease that must be exorcised.
However, if there is anything positive about this maelstrom, Trump and his sycophants have shown the strengths and weaknesses of this country and its political system. And their inept handling of the pandemic has highlighted the country’s social, economic and racial inequities, which have always been there. If the country can survive this, and address those issues, it will be far better and maybe we can even make it great. But, that’s a big IF.

We gave Obama a landslide victory which he threw away and resurrected the GOP from the ashes to
betray us with an all powerful Joe Liebermann!!! Liebermann headed up the Exec Committee of the DLC
which was created by Koch Bros. and other large corporations. They recruited Bill Clinton and other
right wing Southern Dems to move the interest of the party from the people to corporations/Elites.
It was all fakery. Same for the Filibuster which has been used for so long now — without an actual filibuster —
to stop all legislation.
Additionally look to Federal Reserve Bank — a private bank working for its member banks — which now has
control over many decisions which our CONGRESS WAS ELECTED TO MAKE … like whether or not we
have FULL EMPLOYMENT IN THE US. WHY IS A PRIVATE BANK MAKING THAT DECISION? AND MANY
OTHER DECISIONS OVER OUR ECONOMY WHICH SHOULD BE BEING MADE BY OUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS IN OPEN DEBATES ON FLOOR OF HOUSE AND SENATE.
There was this article in our local NJ paper yesterday — “BIDEN URGES DIVERSE FED TO HELP RACIAL
ECONOMIC EQUALITY.” We’re looking to a private bank to encourage racial equality????
“Biden promised to work toward a more diverse Federal Reserve Board that would help minorities access
funds and economic development.” Those decisions are up to our “people’s” government and must remain
so. It is citizens who create economies which are then manipulated by banks, financial institutions and
international financial institutions for the benefit of Elites/wealthy here and internationally. Too much of
US right now is owned by international Elites/wealthy.
In the same way, with no investigations any more of our MIC and CIA/Intelligence complex, those decisions
are being made by a very few Elites in the Senate — just handful of Senators now who actually know something
of what they are actually doing out in the world in the way of violence, too often.

You may not be able to DIRECTLY deal with right wingers and supporters of Trump
but gradually those of us “telling” the truths calmly about the state of our government
are getting thru. Plus Trump’s own actions are harming his supporters — they too don’t
have health care. They too have parents who have been forced to sell their homes
because of illness. Grandparents as well. They know the problems — they just have
been convinced by the right wing of the wrong solutions.

Brooks Ave No gods above you’re way ahead on those details and looking back I was not clear on kneeling being such an ok American/and literally even Christian ok thing to do. Starting to think I was a little brainwashed into thinking America was exclusively white Christian men. But I am not interested in confederate statues idolatry (get those things downnnnn) and can say lives of black people matter openly. So I’ll check into what you’re saying. Thanks
