    1. Where is the investigation? The woman is an enemy of the Jamaican people. Did you hear her ask me Maroons about the words of the treaty? In 2022, the Treaty is NULL AND VOID because the British government is not Jamaica 🇯🇲. There are no more sugar plantations or runaway slaves for the Maroons to capture and return to the plantation.

I did not even support the Coptic mining but because they are living in an area, let the mining begins.

    1. With maroons having their rights mining in the cockpit area affects all Jamaicans do ur research n understand with these brave people fighting for, ignorance benefits no one.

    1. Good question because under the original Treaty , after Cudjoe and the other Captains passed away , the following leaders was supposed to be selected by the Governor of Trelawny . But all that came to an end in 1795 when the Trelawny Maroons were defeated in the second Maroon war against the British . Nearly six hundred of them were deported to Nova Scotia then Sierra Leone because they couldn’t settle among the other Slaves . Currie needs to tell his people how they fell from grace with the British Government and how the 1838 Emancipation affected their status that was wiped out by freedom of Slaves . The Jamaican people owe Maroons nothing . They betrayed the people who fought against the British for their own freedom and kept us in Slavery until their own power were taken away by our own freedom . After the Treaty they became the Police force for the Slave owners and committed many atrocities against the Slaves while being payed two dollars for each slave who were returned . Karma is the Justice of the Universe and now we have a situation where the Descendants of the Slaves are the ones above them . Notice they don’t celebrate Emancipation or Jamaican independence. These were all bad times for the Maroons. They were Heroes before the Treaty but Enemies after . They are now trying to write history to show themselves in good light but reality tells us they were Traitors and Currie should talk the truth instead of creating false narratives . I saw him complaining that they have to travel 45 miles to use an ATM . One hundred years head start on other Jamaicans and preaching Autonomy . A State within a State or just another Garrison ? They want their own Airport etc. They want to leave and enter Maroon community setting foot on another Sovereign state without a Passport or ID and give themselves imunity to another States’s law and order ? Time to get real and drag unuh self into year 2022 .

    2. @David Massey The Citizen of Jamaica pay nearly all Government expenditure , but the Maroons haven’t payed any taxes to my knowledge . Maybe someone can update me on this .

  1. Richard Currie RELUCTANTLY admitted that he was a Jamaican… Just as I had thought he would do when asked “Do you Maroons see yourselves as Jamaicans? Do you see yourself as one?”…

    1. Of course he’s/we’re Jamaican, don’t confused identity with us defending our land’s. You should try practice common sense, even though I Know it’s isn’t so common.

    2. How are the maroons the indigenous ppl of Jamaica? Kmt pure politics. Intelligent yes but clearly very political and self seeking. I’d love to see the root cause at the end of this for I know it’s not just about land for the ‘poor disenfranchised maroons ‘.

  2. Great interview these two men’s r very intelligent wow highly educated love this interview very interesting Nuff Love Nuff Respect More Blessings My Brothers

  3. Same maroon dem sell we out in the Morant Bay Rebellion…you cant ask for financial contribution from the same country u say that ur independent from how much maroons actually pay tax all a di maroons a benefit from what Jamaica produce everybody a Jamaican stop try segregate unnuh self bredda and just work fi buil everything as one people

  4. No Mrs. Miller, I disagree re that comment “the average Jamaican thinking that Maroons taking up guns to fight against JDF, etc. (paraphrasing). Since at NO POINT in time have the Maroons come across as aggressive, why would the “average Jamaican” think they are a threat to our safety?

    1. Yuh mad or sumn? A maroon responsible fi Paul bogoe death, a nuff black people and runaway slaves the maroons captured back in the days and bring them to the slave master. Maroon a sell out, not all but the ones in the west side a sellout , cudjoe dem carry white man go search fi nanny, cudjoe and all a unnu a sellout, even the treaty shows that

    2. @Robert Duncan Please note that I am referring to the current Jamaican society, not the past. Respectfully I understand your comment, though it’s out of context as the interviewer was making reference to present society and not slavery days, to which my comment is focused on. As an “average Jamaican” living in today’s society, have the Maroons been aggressive towards your way of life and seem to want to overthrow our existing govt?

    3. @shanni89fromMS yes but the treaty they have with the queen is the base of their whole argument, it’s all they speak about and if you read the treaty yourself you’ll see that those cockpit country maroons sold us out big time, thousands of slaves.. I have to talk about the past because the treaty Is from the past.. the English just tricked them with that treaty and had them still capturing slaves after the treaty, so the fact that they are so proud of their maroon history just shows they almost the same

  5. Maroon had no government and ultimately was under the watch if the British. They had some autonomy, but they reported to the British.

    1. If only they were educated in basic English and open up the Dictionary for the meaning of indigenous . Yet they call themselves Journalists , I don’t think so !

  6. The average Jamaicans have just been belittled by the Journalist with her stupid questions about attacking JDF and put up barb wire fence! they haven’t done it 200 years. TVJ please do better.

  7. Impressed with the maroons. Very brilliant and articulate. I pray they get to keep their land and that peace is maintained in their community

  8. One Government, One law, One Nation! Out of many one people, We are all Jamaicans and should all have access to traverse and live wherever we choose in Jamaica.

  9. Cant keep a good man down, preserve the history of the Maroon (yes) just like the British do their Monarchy.
