Texas Democrats on Sunday stirred up some 'good trouble' in the iconic words of the late Rep. John Lewis, staging a last ditch walkout in order to prevent a vote from being held on a Draconian, new voting bill in the state legislature before a critical midnight deadline. Texas State Rep. Chris Turner, the Democratic caucus chair who organized the walkout, joins Joy Reid on some of what is needed next in the voting rights fight.

The argument of “if we remove the filibuster and then Republicans gain power, then they will enact terrible laws” is erroneous. Remove the filibuster and pass the laws and programs the majority wants.
If the public STILL votes for Trumpublicans, then it doesn’t matter as the nation is lost already.

The Republican Party is not interested in passing legislation, just removing or blocking it. In their last 4 years of power they blocked almost every Bill from even being discussed. They are now the party of no government.

How does anyone know what is in the bills that the legislation is trying to pass. Does the state have a website that has the bills up for a vote that has the details of what is in the bill. And a place where you can mark it as in favor, somewhat, like it, or hate it. Law that say they can’t vote on the bill for at least two weeks after it been posted? It might draw out the time it takes to pass some bill, but it would stop the last minutes changes .
