    1. @Brian Jones Of course they will they will take big checks from the power planets and make sure only people that earn more then 250k USD a year gets help.

  1. Who TF has $17000 just laying around. This is beyond ridiculous. But at the same time. Theyre really proud of how they don’t need the government. This isn’t a look at how the green deal would fail. This is look at what deregulation and Republican policies do.

    1. @John Bohica No… I haven’t. I’ve got the Old Testament (which was the very first book I brought for myself) and the new Testament … but have never come across the book of Steve… the only Steve I can find in reference to Isiah is Steve Palframan… In any case… I stand by my belief… God would WANT us to take better care of his Creation… Those who make their Billions from those industries of old energy sources, DO NOT… They will use any means and way possible to ensure that they have the power to stay in power… Isn’t that also putting yourself ‘ABOVE God???

    2. @Annie Bland Although the Book of Steve is apocryphal and was removed from mainstream Christianity (along with many other books and writings) by the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, it is still widely accepted by many Biblical scholars to be accurate.

    3. @Annie Bland I do not put myself above God. I am Sanctified Elder Master Anointed Prophet, Bishop Dr Apostle John Sr, Esq. I have deep knowledge of The Word, and have been pastoring for more than 27 years.

I hold a PhD in Theology and Philosophy from the Liberty University School of Divinity with a concentration in Creationism and Lizard People Studies.

    4. @John Bohica Oh… and a footnote, before I go… I did not say YOU were putting yourself above God… I said that those who were making their Billions by poisoning God’s Creations were… Not unless you have extensive stock holdings in those fossil fuel industries, anyway..

    1. @Blair Haffly California is dying. Texas, and for that matter all states that voted for Trump, are thriving. Does that answer your question?

    2. @Huey Long Admirer California is only dying on right wing media. 15 billion dollar surplus last year. Problems? Of course, hardly dying though. Why not come visit? I’ve been to Texas. Beautiful state. This energy grid problem is still on your republican legislature.

    3. @Huey Long Admirer Red states are thriving?? Did you know 9 out of the 10 states who receive the most federal “welfare” are Red States? Did you know the 10 poorest counties in the U.S. are rural counties in Red States? I never met anyone named Huey, but I always imagined it was the name of not so intelligent, gullible morons. You proved me to be correct.

    1. @N W Except there was a similar crisis exactly ten years ago. And, at that time the Texas legislature discussed requiring weatherization of the grid, to prevent a repeat occurrence, but decided to leave it unregulated. California does not have black outs all the time. PG&E chose to not maintain its rural lines properly, despite regulations to do so, and had to cut power to them during high fire risk times. But, they are being sued for that. The difference is, PG&E flouted regulations, while Texas just didn’t enact any regulations.

    2. @Brian Jones Nobody hates you or your state. But, at some point, the voters will have to vote officials into office that know how to govern. You don’t have to give up your values, but just make sure that these people are capable of governing.

    3. @Mountain Mama At this point, Texas is nearly half blue; But due to heavy gerrymandering and voter suppression, it’s difficult to vote out the leaders that have failed every one in this state. I can only hope that this catastrophic event has managed to at least change enough minds in my state that we can vote in better leaders.

    1. @PainRelief Needless to say, leftists are not astute at issues involving money or the economy, when the facts show their Socialist ideals only lead to chaos and despair. Which is why California is struggling. Socialism is killing California so much, people are leaving. And where they go, they inflict their socialist ideas on where they move to, and the problems repeat themselves. Which is why Texas has this. But Texans are tough; they will overcome Socialism, and show itself as an example how to do things right. Unlike Biden and the liberals.

    2. @PainRelief Economies are known to recover quickly when things are done right, and the same mistakes aren’t repeated.

The right thing to do is to go back to a coal-based energy system, and deepemphasize wind turbines, until things are made normal again. Turbines alone will never work.

    3. @Huey Long Admirer Wind power is 7% of Texas power. Similar storms hit in 1977 and 2011. More are predicted to come. Texas should have winterized their grid, I wonder if they will before the next one or just make more excuses.

    1. @Brian Jones we should give Texass back to Mexico… I’m tired of TEXASS taking FEMA money and now they’re taking the other states money for what they should have taken care of in the first place… Texas is a REPUBLICAN crap state…

    2. Apparently competition lowers prices, deregulated here in Australia and prices for energy went through the roof.

    3. @Bindiboy Caldwell yes that’s clean coal for you, as pure as the driven snow and cheapest too, big sponsors of the Liberal Murdoch Government.

  2. So couldn’t give these ppl power and water, but they’re thousand dollar bill, but the bill got there in a heartbeat.

    1. Should have let the government handle the power grid to begin with… now they had to learn the hard way.
That’s a joke. They’ll never learn. It’s all about owning the libs lmao

    1. All but Ted it seems, just saw Ted on CNN laying the law down to Merrick Garland the new Ag, lecturing Garland on ethics. REALLY? Ethical behaviour and Cancun Ted? Merrick by the way prosecuted the KKK and other right wing extremists, oohh scary times coming up for the deplorables and inbreds.

  3. I love it how when people choose to gamble and lose they always want a bailout. When poor people need help it’s always “pull yourself up by your own bootstraps “. Republican politics.

  4. Soooooo are we asking for handouts now? It’s funny how republicans hate OTHER people getting “handouts” just saying

    1. They believe in the free market, an unregulated free market can put pressure on prices but can just as easily squeeze prices upward

    1. Some people handle disaster very well, and it’s entirely possible that he may have dealt with debt before in his past, so it’s not as big a deal anymore.

    2. @ErykaSoleil not to people who have money it isnt, still Trump supporters have plenty of cash now apparently so no-one in a Red state should be worried
