  1. So you plan to break the road laws? Your driver got 4 tickets one day, imagine if the fines was not so high? He would get 20. Lawlessness

  2. Everybody just sit up in them big office doing nothing but collecting tax payers money. No ACCOUNTABILITY big problem!

    1. Implimenting them laws and not considering taxi’s when there is no human rights or public road safety 😂 😂 its a joke

    2. @Patricia Lynch Peart all pros and cons need considering before implementing laws that have cause havoc to the streets and business personel, disruption to schools and the saftey of parents and children!!!! Not all law changes are rocket science.

    1. I hope you don’t take a next taxi in a u life let the government bring u to wherever u want to go.

    2. The government had a reliable JOS system but did not invest in upgrading it before converting it to JUTC which has problems as well.

    3. @Christopher Weller I would like you to try it if you call 119 them not even coming so where they going to bring you 😂😂

    4. @Carmen Glover yes I know jutc that’s why they bring in a that law to get rid of some of the taxi service so they electric buses can make money

    5. But use to go elsewhere before but the government sit idle and let the people get rotten the government need to fix the place like how them a fix the country Elsovador

  3. I grew up in a Jamaica where children were protected what has happened to these men raping and murdering kids.

    1. Holeness a yuh father idiot? And the same law exempt from The jutc bcz it’s just fi pressure the poor and secure the Rich u blind are deaf are dumb

  4. Lock it down for a month and lock down the banks also .. rubbish going on in Jamaica with both Government in Jamaica…

  5. Jamaica taxi drivers too unruly they need to pay their ticket . the only thing i have a problem with is the child car seat that part is unfair to the taxi operators

    1. @Shaldon Palmer its different stage of traffic law so if a driver go trough a red light its more money than if he didn’t stop at a stop sign so forth and so on speeding is a lot of fine drunk driving no seat belt on . that’s y the fine is so high . its like that all over the world

  6. This gov behaving like people on drugs it’s all about them… you all better stand up n don’t let these moran’s take ur Power. Bull sh*t!!!🙏♥️😂

  7. I think the government has lost the plot, how on earth they want taxi to have car seats in taxi to. It should only be in parents private vehicle. Taxi in the UK 🇬🇧 don’t have any car seat in them. They only have seat belts.

  8. When you get a ticket it should be paid within one week how the hell one person have so much tickets and still operating that’s nonsense

    1. In foreign 30 days to pay a ticket or dispute in front of a judge. Since Jamaican officials want Jamaica to be foreign they should apply same rules

  9. Taxi drivers must be held responsible for breaking the laws because of indiscipline on the road! Don’t understand why they’re upset when ticketed! Makes no sense. Do the crime, pay the fine!!
I don’t drive with them when I’m in the island!!

  10. In all fairness, asking the taxi operators to provide car seats for children doesn’t seem right to me. Moreover all children are not of the same size. It’s parents responsibility to provide their own children’s car seat. In any event, I applaud the children’s car seat act…every young child under maybe six yrs old must be fitted into a car seat.

    1. @lady123

Which country’s are you implying to that uses car seats for children above 1 year old in taxi’s??? As I more that 💯% am aware personally as a uk born citizen thats not the case in uk and im sure the same for USA as would be a breach to human rights. When jamaica adhears to human rights, road saftey regulations that they will be liable to be prosecuted if no adheared too. Also when there is pathments on every street, good road and good transport amenities ie buses, trams and trains and also the same standards of taxi services door to door services without discrimination just as foreign then that will be perfectly fine but not until as it is disrimation to a person life until. I do not agree with disrespecting the law but i expect the laws to be realistic and when coming to foreign best they keep to the same standards also! Uk and America have no issues as Jamaica has as can also get food delivered to any door in the country from local supermarkets ect ect. Sorry but you cant compare Jamaica to them foreign. What about in emergency like to go hospital extra? It is not practle within public transport. However private persons driving there own cars should 💯% take a step forward into making better measures for road saftey.

When a child can travel without a car seat

      UK laws

A child aged 3 or older can travel in a back seat without a child car seat and without a seat belt if the vehicle doesn’t have one.

In most cases, children under 3 must always be in a child car seat.

      The rules are different if:

the child is in a taxi or minicab

the child is in a minibus, coach or van

the child is on an unexpected journey, for example an emergency

there’s no room for another car seat

Taxis and minicabs (private hire vehicles)

If the driver doesn’t provide the correct child car seat, children can travel without one – but only if they travel on a rear seat:

and wear an adult seat belt if they’re 3 or older

without a seat belt if they’re under 3

      Minibuses, coaches and vans

Minibus or coach drivers and companies don’t have to provide child car seats. You must provide your own if you want to make sure a child has one.

      Coaches

Children can travel without a child car seat or seat belt, if they’re not available.

      Minibuses

All children must travel in rear seats (any seats behind the driver) if a child car seat or an adult seat belt isn’t fitted.

Children aged 3 or older must:

use a child car seat if there’s one available in a minibus

use an adult seat belt if child car seats are not fitted or are unsuitable

      Vans

The rules for vans are the same as for cars.

      Unexpected journeys

If the correct child car seat isn’t available, a child aged 3 or older can use an adult seat belt if the journey is all of the following:

      unexpected

      necessary

      over a short distance

You can’t take children under 3 on an unexpected journey in a vehicle without the correct child car seat, unless both of the following apply:

it’s a licensed taxi or minicab

the child travels on a rear seat without a seat belt

No room for a third child car seat

Children under 3 must be in a child car seat. If there’s no room for a third child car seat in the back of the vehicle, the child must travel in the front seat with the correct child car seat.

Children aged 3 or older can sit in the back using an adult belt.

    2. @Chantelleeach country has its own laws. Ja’s law doesn’t have to be like England’s. In any event the taxi and the car seat business needs to be revised.

    3. The government needs to abolish this stupid law because no taxi man is gonna carry any one with car seat lol when the car seat is gonna take up two seats and remember it will not be one person with a baby could be two or more lol so sorry for the baby mothers them because the leader dont give a dam money them a look wonder how the poor ppl dem ago find. Money when can hardly sen kids to school .. them need to call election soon

  11. Why should we be ashamed? We elect the government to implement required laws to protect children. I think we should have more social workers or employ people who are willing to do the work. Patents should be vigilant and take care of their children. When I was a child my mother would walk with me to and from dangerous places or my brothers went with me. It is sad sad sad what is happening but why shame. Shame is the very monster that is causing victims to be silent.

  12. Well when you all ignore evil and can agree and plot to murder in secret what do you expect. In justice to one is injustice everywhere..
“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”
    ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer

  13. This is a detraction from the ssl saga and poor jamaicans are suffering. Finding food, shelter and clothing can be impossible for some. This situation in jamaica is sad. Children are raped, killed and some going to bed hungry. Everything in jamaica is politicized, some people are helped, some communities are brushed while other places look like forests with garbage pileup.
