The Supreme Court heard arguments from two cases today involving subpoenas for Trump’s tax returns. Neal Katyal tells Lawrence O’Donnell that he thinks it’s possible the justices could rule against Trump in both cases because “in both cases, you had one fundamental overarching principle that the court cared about, which is no one is above the law.” Aired on 5/12/2020.

@Dave Schultz Congress has an excellent reason- the fact that the law states the IRS “shall provide” tax documents when requested. it doesn’t have any qualifiers for why simply that they do. As for Muller going through his taxes- nope he didn’t because he realized it would take more time and money than he could get the DOJ to give him once he requested them and trump started fighting to keep them buried.
