When it starts to get so bad over there iwant to return to my country but if this still like when I was a child it can’t go anywhere can walk anywhere can live anywhere can’t be free why should I leave America and come back to a prison Jamaica is the most beautiful place on Earth our countries paradise and for the prime minister to be on the news talking about all that going on there it make me sick to my stomach that’s the land of my birth or Jamaica had to offer look what’s going on there
I wish Jamaican would make up the minds about fighting crimes and saving lives.
@richard jarrett Both parties have failed Jamaica regarding crime. PNP/JLP have been in power year after year and neither one has been willing to do what it takes to end crime.

@drewski Seems like you only see what you choose to see and hear what you choose to hear but the visible fact is that the JLP is doing a lot more than the PNP to curb crime. The PNP who is the opposition is the party that is playing games with the citizens lives in order to gain political points, And if you fail to grasp that just look at the SOE that the Government put in place to stall crime in the festive season and the PNP vote to end it just like how they (PNP) block every single crime bill the government introduce inside Parliament. I can understand that the two parties are failing on crime but at least the JLP tries while the PNP plays devil’s advocate without a plan.

I think SOE really works doh,the gunman thinks twice when dem knows police n soldiers are down the road or nearby.
Half the time criminals walk right pass zoso and they don’t know how the person they are looking for looks like.
Put our place in the mother and father that loose their seeds due to gangsterism or extortions.
This shouldnt be a political issue but a citizen issue protection citizens are paramount.
Crime breeds more crime and introduces more poverty.
Respect private and public property and the country will do well
There should be a non partisan effort in dealing with crime.
It is very easy to deal with this challenge.

The average Jamaican isn’t aware of the severity of a country being constantly put under state of emergency, this speaks volume that the leaders have failed the ppl miserably and the ppl have failed themselves more by electing these leaders

My question is…after the SOE – what is next? What are the short and medium term plans? Because cpmmunity programs and other efforts to change hearts and minds while important will take time
Andrew do what you must to keep your country safe. We taxpayers and other law abiding citizens understand that we will be inconvenienced. However, we are tired of crime and violence in this country. We want SOE and ZOSO in our communities. We are NOT being harassed by the security forces. We want them here.
