    1. Ronda, Ronda , Ronda. How many people do you know that have the virus? Be calm. Be careful id’s all.

  1. Now we live day to day out of time and out of space
force to run away from our man made rat race
Lose our standing to death counts of every day
To a leader who did this not to lose face
    ….

  2. “I knew it was a pandemic before anyone else did.” – t’rump today
    “This over-reaction is all just a hoax!” – t’rump, on Feb 28
    🤔😄😆

    1. @Ron Wuerch Never mind buddy. It’s tough realising your great orange hero is utterly incapable.

  3. Trump: “I knew this was a pandemic from the very beginning. Meanwhile, you had some people calling it hoax. But many people are saying that I was the first person to warn the world about the seriousness of the coronavirus. I correctly predicted everything that has happened. I’m sort of like a modern day Nachodamus.”

    1. Let’s see if he correctly predicts his indictment, his incarceration by the good work of the SDNY and RICO.

    2. Cheryl McElveen
Um……it was a play on words. Hamberder -hamburger. Oranges-origins. Trump is a illiterate moron.

  4. please stop placing Dr. Fauci in the midst of this group of selfish self-serving greedy corrupt uncaring disconnected incompetents. you are risking someone of great importance.

    1. Between Dr. Fauci and Dr. JOHN Campbell (see link below) Both are great educators of this virus. Both are educated, calming, and above all truthful. Dr. John Campbell has many videos, this link is his first of many on this subject. He post once or twice a day. Dr. Campbell is a hero being found by many wanting truth. Stay safe, be well.

    2. When asked about the closure of the White House Pandemic Unit in 2018, Trump’s immediate knee-jerk reaction was to look for someone around him to throw under the bus. ” I don’t know anything about it . Maybe Dr. Fauci could answer that ” ! In Trump’s reality, the buck stops ANYWHERE but here.

    1. The wonder weapon is coming to win the war with the Russians at the gates. Plus, somehow none of these experts heard of distributing Tyvek coveralls to citizens? That tells me they want this economy imploded to pillage the banks again. Tee-Vee talking heads Smh.

  5. Now Trump want’s to act presidential when it’s close to re-election time, rest assured if this virus wasn’t an issue he could care less about helping the average American family, he wasn’t doing it before.

    1. @g mun22 While your nationality interests me, I don’t see how it’s Jermaine to the discussion.
Everyone is in a bad spot right now. I live with a fam6of asthmatics and an octagenarian motherinlaw . We all have our crosses to bear though I do wish you well so far from home and certainly you are not seeing America at it’s best.

The part of your post I was ribbing you about was “this is not meant to be a dark joke”. I thought you might be taking aim at my frivolity/ gallows humor. But, rereading your original post, perhaps you were just referring to your own writing.
      Cheers!

    2. @Blindspot Spotter
Yes, I didn’t want to appear flippant in that comment.
I also misunderstood your comment as if I was somehow ‘attacking’ the country. Apologies, too many cross-conversations influencing my thoughts at the same time.

I have a friend at home who has multiple health issues & has CoVid-19. So far she is feeling pretty horrendous, but focusing a lot on steaming her airways, using vicks/ mint& eucalyptus oils (same effect) on her chest, ribs (pain from coughing) & feet. Trying to keep clear airways and minimise potential lung issues/ symptoms seems to be helping her.

Hopefully you don’t need it, but I’ve been following these resources for reliable info. Best wishes to you & your family.

UK Dr. Excellent practical resource. Facts, summaries & some general advice:

(If I previously shared these, they are the same. I didn’t scroll through to check my last message.)

    3. @g mun22 Hey, thank you. I will take a look at these links. And again , my bad for reading so5that wasnt there.
I’m on edge as well and watching/reading way too much news in some mad attempt to gain just enough knowledge to maybe be in a position to fight an invisible intruder that seems custom designed to have a profound impact on my family. <<https://youtu.be/tKOlBQSqAiAs
It’s a story of missed opportunity. Three weeks ago trump had enough data to pull the trigger and order manufacturers to retool and begin making ventalators but he didn’t even enable the Nat Production act until 3 days ago and STILL hasn’t ordered a single MFG to begin retooling even. I’m just stupefied by the complete lack of leadership and humanity it this soulless sob. I know ventilator numbers in the UK are low as well. By my count it’s about 1/2 the #/million there as it is here. I think the IS is at about 5,000/1M . I wish you and yours well and hope you can be repatriated/reunited with your people soon.
      Cheers!

    4. @Blindspot Spotter
As a cognitive linguist, background in linguistics, I feel qualified to confirm one sentence can indeed be that long. 😉 (Maybe with some punctuation, if I’m being pedantic…)

Thanks for the link. I think *3 weeks* is letting him (actually, not _just_ the US) off way too lightly. Today they said he was briefed Jan 3rd. He did *one* sensible thing in restricting travel from China but nothing related to it. The extra time is _should_ have give is now irrelevant. Nothing else was done.

Additionally, the US refused tests from the WHO in *DECEMBER* & opted to make their own. The first ones failed (false negatives), so they had to make a 2nd test, while the world was already testing, using the same tests.

There are SO many criticisms that can be thrown at many countries, but only the US f’ed up unnecessarily, instead of ‘just’ being slow to _react_ & failing to be _proactive._

_My family_ has been on some extra supplements^ for a *month.* I’ve been watching global news since January. Just getting a few extra things each time we were grocery shopping since then – ‘prepare don’t panic’. The info was out there.

US news outlets _should_ be… better, generally; but news networks, newspapers, charities/NGOs, even academic institutions _could_ have created public awareness. Scientists/ researchers received the virus’ sequenced genome mid-January from Chinese scientists. They *all* knew.

Western governments, organisations, & academic institutions have failed the general public.

My parents are US residents, so I’m not totally ‘stuck here’; although plans to go home before summer are… like everything else, for everyone else right now: who knows.

Scotland & the UK have said they expect “disruption” for “most of a year.” All things considered, my family is also in a fortunate situation, thankfully.

The UK’s Channel 4 news (from clip above) has decent news reporting. The other YouTube channel is what I’ve been sharing with friends – best I’ve seen.

      Sorry for the essay!

Sláinte! (Gaelic for ‘cheers’/to good health.)

      = = = = = = = = = =

      ^Re. supplements
_Shared because of what you said. You may be interested in checking them out, or not, but I don’t want to appear to be peddling BS – so full disclosure of that awareness & my personal views here._

      [Pasted from saved info:]
Supplements: 10,000IU vit D, vit C, turmeric, L-lysine and [N-acetyl-cysteine+ alpha lipoic acid + selenium – body uses them to manufacture glutathione] – all have peer-reviewed research behind them. They are not cures. I am not suggesting that; nor am I giving any medical advice etc., but they are things I’ve researched & used previously that support an immunocompromised body in different ways. My personal experiences & overall philosophy with healthcare – & life – is pretty much summed up by Einstein’s quote:
_”We do not know one quarter of one per cent of what nature has revealed to us.”_

I’ve dealt with ‘mystery’ health issues & found benefits from all kinds of therapies – from the most conventional to the weirdest. So I keep my mind open, with a healthy dose of skepticism _and_ an awareness of the arrogance within Western medicine.

We are infinitely more complex than we understand.

    5. @g mun22 The “mystery illnesses” caught my eye. I e been very fortunate most of my life. Good ht to wt proportions maintained with little or no effort, never broke a bone despite numerous jumps (from planes), maybe now in my mid 50s I ll experience the occasional back spasm after extended periods of standing.
However, from age 42 to 53, I suffered debilitating stomach attacks requiring several hospitalizations with no confirmed diagnosis. One surgeon at Georgetown Hospital thought the pro6was telescoping intestines but there was never a colonoscopy confirmation.
A friend at work confided in me that he too was having difficulty keeping weight on and also suffered stomach attacks. He said he had started taking probiotic supplements and it had helped. So I got the name of a recommend probiotic and began taking them two years ago and have not suffered an attack since . Not only that but I’m now able to eat icecream, lobster bisque, and have cream w/my coffee. Crazy. 10 years, a dozen or more doctors, probably 20 visits to the ER and nor one DR. Says “Have u ever considered probiotics? ” So yes, I’m a believer in supplements. Good luck and stay safe and far away from everyone! 🙂

  6. The country is still talking more about the economy than taking action against the virus. Screwed up priorities.

    1. Bot vr37.2 we all get it that the economy is going to be walloped by this, however you are putting the cart before the horse, first you have to get through this pandemic, which will take months, and then you have to reboot the economy, no amount of stimulus is going to energise the economy when you are shutting down everything that is not essential for the maintenance of life. We have to forget about the economy and focus on the virus for the next few months, an Irish minister said today that if the people don’t do what they are being asked to do it will have 435000 people sick by this time next month. A little country like lreland, if you extrapolate that out to the USA we would have 35million people sick 20percent of whom would need a icu’ , so shelve the economy worry about the virus,

    2. There is no safety net, the whole system is ready to put the burden on the working class and their reaction is to blame Corona as if the system was just fine.

    3. Murcia…. Where the real American dream is dying cold and alone in thousands of dollar’s of debt….
From a shining city on the hill…. To a Smoldering crater on what use to be a hill and is now a toxic dump….

  7. Italy has a healthcare system for all.
The USA has healthcare for some in a completely chaotic patchwork system focused on profit.
Italy has a social safety net.
The USA has a patchy paltry and completely inadequate social support programs.
    Italy has social cohesion.
USA does not. We seem to all hate, fear, distrust people that don’t share our beliefs.
Italian people behave more as citizens of a county.
USA is full of rugged individuals (and many with guns) that will insist on their “civil rights” when they have to go into mandatory quarantine.
    Get the picture!!
It’s going to play out horrifically here, unless drastic immediate priorities and policies change dramatically very soon.

    1. Zebra Zagadore not at all. My point to original poster was that things are not just going fine in Italy as was implied

    2. @nsgkuaov , yes I fully agree with you. Americans have only experienced indirect war, at least for anyone alive presently. We’ve gone in to “help” other countries. But with this present crisis, we may be needing some help from other countries.
I really wish I was living in Norway or Spain right now, I loved Europe when I was there. You all just seemed so much more civilized than us, sharing and living the priorities that I personally have.

    3. Janet Douglas I worry that America may find it hard to cope with a death rate of 10percent like we have in Italy we are loosing 500 people a day, we hoped that a lot of people did not get sick but research in the village of Vo have show us this number is a very small percentage. We have many dark days ahead and unfortunately so do you, mind your self

    1. @Becky Rengstorf you guys are forgeting that in italy , many doctors and medical staf , are infectiv too..that is another big problem, they need to stay in querentine. Retire doctors are going back to work because they dont have enough.

    2. @Rosa Irvan We need to harness the efforts of retired medical staff in this country as well, plus medical students.

  8. Please take to task and hold to account the likes of Judge Pirllo on Fox , Larry Kudlow , Kellyann Conwoman who were telling americans two weeks ago that this was a hoax , under control , contained , all designed to hurt Trump – the valuable time wasted by your country in recent weeks is going to cost a lot of lives – id ask them for public apology and shame them for their disgraceful behaviour – all partisan BS they were peddling at a time of crisis.

    1. @Debate Me! Wow. So, if you are going to retire in the next two years whY percentage of your reti5acct would u move to stock funds, if any?

    2. @Blindspot Spotter i would have maybe borrowed most of it in January. Put it all in high interest savings. Then sometime in next 30 days put it all back in 401k.

As for now. 2 years might be not enough time. I would not put more than you can afford to burn for up to 4 years

To be honest its not a good time for you. You already took the hit. In 2 years your portfolio might not be fully recovered yet.

Benefit of going with stocks is higher gains but that is VERY risky. This is how id do it. Pick a figure that you would be OK with loosing for 4 years and invest that much.

Also nobody knows future. So be prepared for a long ride, but we might get lucky and be bull market in 1 to 1.5 years. I don’t rely on luck though

Be careful. Market does not care about your time table. It will make you whole when it FEELS like it. So consider a 7 year recession. 10 years? No guarantee and no FDIC insurance. You CAN lose it all.

I know you dont want to hear that but the truth is the truth.

Maybe find a credit union with investment services to guide you.

    3. @Debate Me! Wow. That was very kind of you to take the time to write. Thanks.
Yeah, I’ve spent the last 35 years buried in a federal alphabet soup agency. It’s been a good job and a fun, interesting, intellectually rewarding job but I’ve spent more time doing it than minding my own $. I always say at work ” if I were as worried about my own money as I was the government’s, I’d be a rich man.” I took a bath back in 2000 got out in 2007 in time to avoid the bubble and now I’m gun shy. Cheers and I wish you good fortune. BTW, Kudlow? Search YouTube “Kudlow drunk on TV”. I think I saw that last week or the week before.

    1. @Bot vr37.2 i know my 400 dollar emergency savings is gone now, had to get dry goods and dog foods medicine and batten down for the next 3 months.

    2. @JogBird Actually the last administration had an entire pandemic unit in place, plus an administrative team of infectious disease experts in national security in charge of coordinating all the governmental agencies and departments who would be working on any given pandemic. And then you-know-who’s administration comes along and dismantles it all.

    3. @Zebra Zagadore stop sucking up to uncle tom house slave obama! the uncle tom slave is the reason for most problems today because the coward couldnt do anything an let mass murdering dictators from Assad to putin do what they want

  9. Unbelievable. Italy’s intensive care unit beds are near full capacity. This cannot be real, I wish. Somehow, the coronavirus pandemic is the Hurricane Katrina of viral outbreaks. And here in America, Donald J. Trump has mishandled the coronavirus crisis from the get-go all economically, morally, and socially.

    1. @Philipp Angst Keep talking in these discussions. Americans need to hear. We all love Italy and pray for your country, as well as all of Europe and the US.

    2. @Robert Alan THEN WHY DON’T YOU TELL US WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT? DUMP IS A SELFISH, SELFCENTERED MORON, IS THAT WHAT YOU MEAN?

    3. @may wilson I think that moron is probably those college shenanigans who are undermining the coronavirus pandemic by going on spring break with his buddies and they cramped up with those parties.

  10. “One of his [Trump’s] senior aides, Jared Kushner..”

That will never stop being a weird thing.

    1. @Toni sumblin …Remember when DJT wanted Kelly to fire them because he couldn’t. That is a huge downside…the boss’ daughter can’t do her job but he can’t fire her.

  11. Russia stuff is a HOAX..Coronavirus is also a HOAX….where is Trump/s miracle? “I alone can solve the problems”. Haha.

    1. Thats normal CEO’s get paid by the people the fiered. How more few People and Materials how higher their salary

  12. Let’s see in 2018 we had a $2 trillion dollar tax break for the rich and for corporations, and now that the whole nation is on the brink of catastrophe, we are talking about $850 billion to help 300 million people?

  13. Hang on, we have a president that “OWNS” hotels. You telling me we can’t find someplace to put homeless people?

    1. efs 1066

No I didn’t. You misunderstand a lot of things my friend. He stands to make the same by writing it at a loss and not have people in his hotels. Sorry but that’s life. Instead of trying to get his rooms filled you might want the rooms to get filled by private hotels owned by small owners.

    2. @Leola he makes $0 now. sure he’d lose money (housekeeping) but he can afford it.
“lead by example” and all that

    3. efs 1066

You don’t understand business. If he made money he’d have to pay taxes, by claiming it as lost income he would pay less taxes.

  14. The US needed to ramp up production of ventilators 3 weeks ago back when Trump was telling everyone that the virus would “Disappear like magic.” We are going to run out and people who otherwise would have survived are going to die.

  15. WHY WHY do you keep saying ,,,THIS IS JUST FOR 15 DAYS>?????? it will be months of quarantine for a population that has more guns than brains,,,
