  1. the fact that minimum wages has been raised should not automatically mean the tax threshold should be raised as we need taxes collected in order to pay for roads and other things. Unless we wish to pay more taxes at the registers we need people who earn over a set income level should pay some taxes. Now, if the government was able to ringfence sales taxes on products and import taxes on products so that when we buy or import items for vehicles a major portion is used for building and maintaining roads, and the same with medical items increasing our support of medical areas.. etc.. then I could see a way to finance our country while decreasing PAYE taxes.. In a Perfect world we would have no one charged taxes for work, and all income would come from sales taxes and import fees but at levels that were affordable. So no one would be tying to avoid the taxes, as everyone eats, everyone buys clothing, etc..

    1. @Sheldon Reid if everyone can avoid paying income taxes that works then how can the roads be fixed? It will be getting worse as the minimum wage increase means all the day labourers and all the people hired for cleaning the sides of the road will be wanting more money as well, so the MPs will have less money to even do their poor Marl and a 1/4 inch of asphalt repairs, forget actual cement roads we have been asking for since 2000..so go ahead and let the increase to the tax threshold happen and soon the roads will be so bad we cannot even ride horses o them forget driving on them..

  2. Wow so why didnt these trade unions think of this before signing for garbage. They really don’t consider workers much.

  3. People pay taxes for everything and is only the rich gets back something because poor people cannot afford an accountant.

  4. Bring another expert on with a counterargument so as to stimulate healthy discussion. Also you can’t come with an argument with figures to even present.
