  1. I got followed several times while surfing, mostly off the coast of Southern California, through the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Not fun!

    1. @Glenn Tucker Yeah, huh? That shark was NOT just messing around. That was an intentional hit. Whoooo!

  2. A word of advice. When confronted by a shark, not hit it with a paddle or punch it in the nose. A shark’s primary weakness is screaming.

    1. Well, thanks for the comic relief, but seriously, considering the speed and momentum as that shark plowed into the kayak…nothing would have stopped that torpedo with teeth!😬

  3. Well it’s good that it happened in the water like that because that way he can wash the c*** out of his pants

    1. shark taser would be like a regular taser only you probably don’t want to mix splashed salt water and electricity……

  4. Oh My God! It would be terrifying to see that thing from the bow of a yacht, but in a kayak! That was the most aggressive attack I’ve seen on a kayak.

  5. Aw, man. Hawaiian monk seals are the single most endangered pinniped on earth. Sucks that if this guy’s right, there’s now one less seal in Hawaii. I had the unbelievable blessing of seeing 2 out of the 8-10 remaining seals on Maui a few months ago. They’re incredible animals.

And also— HOLY CRAP!! I spend as much time as I can in Hawaiian waters and love sea kayaking…and I 100% would have simultaneously screamed and soiled myself if this happened to me!! This guy’s lucky AF!

  6. Wow. Imagine if the boat had turned over, and the boater was splashing widely to get back on board. The shark would have turned around for another bite or two.
