  1. It’s about time!!! If you post it they can go back to see who the original poster and there they can get you. I hope this deters people from posting gruesome images. They should be sued and pay monetary fines.
Work on it guys. Good luck Jamaicans.

  2. Yes I agree! It needs to stop, posting gruesome pictures of the deceased. But it’s not just the public it’s professionals as well.

    1. It recession every where not Jamaica alone right now every thing in Canada price gone true the roof .i dont know why Jamaican think is there alone since covid 19 gas food every thing price high i could understand if you say Jamaica need to create more jobs get those guns off the street throw the troubles making guys in jail and loose the key

  3. I get that they don’t want the videos shared, but how often are they going to enforce this and it seems like they will need more officers in the cyber crimes Unit to monitor what people are posting. Then after this it will move to monitoring what you post that goes against their agenda.

    1. More Jamaicans live outside of Jamaica than on the island itself. They have no chance of stopping this if people just sent pictures and video abroad to their friends and relatives living in countries where it’s not illegal to post for them. Large, advanced countries could not enforce this which might be the reason they haven’t attempted to pass such stupid laws. Jamaica has no chance of enforcing this successfully.

  4. The government should be focus on how they can reduce inflation and improve GDP from $28 Billion to $100 Billion. Lets revamp the railway in jamaica and fix jamaica roads and infrastucture and restructure the failing agriculture framework and increase brand jamaica exports to the Americas.

    1. You have not been keeping up with the international new i see. Take a quick Google on Jamaicas economical performance

    2. Jamaica should focus on adequate water supply for the citizens Disgrace! Jamaica should have adequate water supply Neither PNP or JLP overstand the importance of water supply throught the Island.People needs Truth and pictures are important, but they should block out Dead bodies .

  5. Singapore is an economic powerhouse 1st in the world in political and operational stability. 3rd most competitive in the world. 4th largest recipient of FDI in the world. GDP$397 Billion in 2022 everything fall or rise on leadership we have work to do.

  6. The more we view blood, gore/carnage, in videos or in real-life, the less affected we are by them. This behavior is already manifested in how many would much rather videotape someone in distress than offer them help!

  7. Definitely, a disrespect to the diseased and the family. Nobody would like their dead body to be posted on the internet. Many people in America can see what is happening in Jamaica. Instead of sending pictures of the murderer or suspect, Jamaicans share pictures of the victims and laugh about it. Everybody will die and nobody knows how they will die. Sometimes the death is very sad, unfortunate and not the way you want the world to remember you for.

  8. It should be a natural instinct of human decency to know that these gruesome scenes cannot be shared online, especially before the families are contacted by the relevant authorities. Stringent laws must also be put in place to punish ppl who invade and tamper with crime scenes before they are processed by the relevant persons.

  9. Some of you are saying the government should be more focused on fighting crime and violence. I agree that that should be their main focus, but just think of your family member being involved in a fatal crash and the way that you are informed is via a social media post; whether pictures or videos. How would you feel? My 92 yro father was hit by a motorcyclist last year and 3 days later her succumbed to his injuries. Would I want to see pictures of the accident scene plastered all over the internet? People you need to self evaluate and stop being so crass and unfeeling. It’s disrespectful and heartless to be posting these videos and pics all over social media in the name of freedom of expression. What about my freedom of privacy???? Damn!

    1. Agree with you Fernando. Condolences to you and family members. I’m wondering if it’s the same tragic incident I am aware of! Someone very close to most of my family members. Pondside?

  10. In some cases, but if a crime is taken place and one can capture it that can help to solve that crime to be solved… What I would love to see the members of the government that as broken the the law and try to say that they was instructed by other persons in which is a bove them , they shouldn’t be hiding behind government but be exposed all over the internet

  11. Why is it just taking so long for it to be considered a crime? decent citizens dignity is be compromised in the last moments of their lives.
It is sickening to see how this is being allowed for so long: a body must, and I said must be covered immediately:as soon as the person is dead.

  12. Another serious problem is when there is on accident or a person got shot, that person is being laing bleeding to death:with no assistance because no one knows that the first thing is to be done is to get he or she help, first responders must be available in Jamaica at a large amount all over the country.

  13. May the God Lord deliver you all and bring peace to the nation I just sorry for this nation please to cast out that territorial spirit that reside in you all nation

  14. I, for one, find the idea of making the practice of posting gory images and videos an offence shortsighted. There’s some legitimacy to the concern of it, but at the end of the day, there are no real victims to it, the person recording the incident did nothing to the individuals involved other than recording the fact the incident happened. It’d be similar to arresting and charging a person for retelling the events of an accident they just so happened to witness.
Persons related to the deceased/injuried should be able to request the recording to be removed, but charging the recorder is moving backwards and not solving the true issues, the reckless abandon a lot of road users have when on the streets of this country. There needs to be better policing, better road design and a more robust transportation system, not trying to fix a non-issue that is damn near impossible to enforce to begin with
