  1. Welp, that sucks. The evidence and testimony would have completely destroyed Fox’s already bad reputation.

  2. A friggin shame!
I wished they had gone to court.
Now their gonna just continue with the same ole lies.
I really wish there could be some criminal consequences for their part in January 6 riots or something.
    These traitors got to pay!

  3. This is really bad for society. There is a strong public interest in bringing out the truth in public. That should not have been lost.

  4. Let’s hope this does not include a confidentiality provision, and that there was a full and complete admission and apology are required. Tucker Carlson should be required to read an apology live on air, ditto Laura Ingraham, Maria Bartiromo, Brett Baer, and Sean Hannity. If not, Faux News will have got off easy.

    1. Right… Even if they read such a statement, I wonder what percentage of their viewers would believe it (especially knowing it was forced…) 😕

  5. How many of these settlements have to be reached and/or paid out before the people who depend on Fox “News” for their news leave them alone? I feel like they need to be forced to publicly admit that they lied on EVERY show, especially Tucker, Hannity, Ingraham, etc

  6. Knew this was coming but it sucks Fox will slither away without how evil they really are being exposed, this was a good chance to deal a crippling blow to them.

  7. Another great way of reminding us American citizens that, in truth, the only thing punishable by law is not being wealthy.

    1. Although not extremely wealthy, I’m sure Hannity and Carlson enjoyed laughing all the way to the bank.

    1. @albus4043 unfortunately, even if you win, Fox could drag out the appeal process for a lot of years. However, Dominion isn’t done yet, and they may have their sights set on other targets.

  8. I am very disappointed that they settled. I wanted to see all those jerks on FOX news testify. It’s always about $$.

  9. Dominion taking a lot of heat for settling. Certainly it’s disappointing as hell, for many. But one key thing that likely factored into Dominion’s decision to settle, as stated by many Legal pundits, is that even if the trial had gone Dominion’s way there would have been appeals which would have resulted in at least a 3-4 year delay in Dominion actually getting their pay day and there’s no guarantee that they would have received the full 1.6B. Of course, for all of us anticipating having the Fox Corp/Fox News executives and “talking heads”, being on the witness stand, under oath, under the spotlight, this settlement is an extreme let down. Next up: the likely Smartmatic Lawsuit settlement, plus Dominon’s Lawsuits against individuals like Sidney Powell and her “ilk”.

    1. @Nathalie Sinovich All businesses and employees are for money. Does that make everyone who works corrupt by default? What a dumb take.

    2. @Jimmy Simpson They were suing for the long term integrity of their name to be entrusted in election integrity. The money they made was a result of that service. Settling now does not prove that they are failsafe.

    3. @Setsuna1 The money is a reward for the value of the services you provide. Their services were not proven as they did not seek to provide overarching court tested evidence of the integrity of their services rather than the reward they sook. I not saying fox is clear here either.

  10. The public deserves to know what exactly went on. They lied to the public for so long. We need to know the facts, and the people that made the choice to agree to the lies to prevent them being able to do it again.

  11. That’s unfortunate! I hope the settlement includes all the fox “achors” appear on TV at the same time and issue a formal apology. And then they should all be unceremoniously fired!

  12. Non-Disclosure Agreements and Non-Compete Agreements were once used together to protect a company’s intellectual property, processes, etc. Now NDA’s are used to protect liars, theives, rapists, and scoundrels. It’s all quite sickening.

    1. victimizing predators ALWAYS figure out a way to exploit systems or they groom them to ones they can…horrifying, really…

    2. nah don’t be fooled, when they made those laws they knew exactly who they could protect, while selling it to the rest of us as a fair law. NDAs and NCAs were never really about protecting a companies IP/processes – it was about protecting a companies misdeeds, safety violations, labour violations, and other illegal activity from getting out.

It was capitlist interest. So long as companies can pay a pretty penny to get out of legal consequences, then there isn’t really such thing as consequences. So many coprorations and companies budget in insane amounts for fines and lawsuits in order to continue/condoning corrupt work enviroments or producing harful products, *because* it’s cheaper to break the law, harm people, and pay money than to stop producing.

Had there not been NDAs at Boeing then maybe there wouldn’t be 415 fatal accidents involving their planes after the company cut costs that sacraficed safety that workers repeatedly flagged to upper management.

I agree it’s disgusting. In Canada, until recently, the Canadian Hockey League was funneling kids league registrations fees into a rainy-day funds that paid for sexual assault victims of their adualt hockey players to sign NDAs. However in individual cases…often times civil law is the only judicial branch that victims of SA can get any justice, so I’m not opposed.

  13. That’s a shame. We really needed to see the hosts dragged onto the stand to admit what they did.

  14. Man this better NOT be one of those all-too-common “..Plaintiff neither admits guilt nor wrongdoing..” type settlements. Money should not be able to buy one’s way out of justice! The US ‘justice’ (and media) system is so utterly broken that it could even get to this point. So disappointing Dominion went for a settlement when they have such a slam-dunk case.

    1. It’s going to be done quietly. I’m sure part of it is that Dominion would have to sign NDA’s. I’m so pissed.

    2. Didn’t fox release a statement to the effect of an apology for “some potentially misleading statements?” Slick way of sticking to the wording… with the likes of tucker giving that constipated look while riffing garbage. Strictly speaking he prob gave factual valuation of the company (etc), but went further in the reeds has he looked in further need of a dump as the segments went on.

  15. I knew Fox was going to settle the case. No way they would allow this to go to trial. No way

    1. Dominion should’ve laughed them out of the room & took it to trial!!! I can’t remember the last time I was this disappointed 😞

  16. I am so disappointed that they settled. I was hoping we could finally see Fox exposed for what they are.

    1. I don’t disagree, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if that same standard was applied to all the rest who’ve been blatantly lying as well?

    2. Everyone willing to listen already knows Fox lies. But it would have been pleasant to watch them have to admit it under oath.

  17. There are cases where it should not even be allowed to settle and this is definitely one of them. It’s not just about lost profits, it should also be about accountability. Any organisation who engages in misinformation this blatant (I don’t care if it is Fox or any other news network) should be banned from broadcasting and disbanded completely.
